After these sketches I hope you will feel 🔥mildly toasted🔥 because I've got some hot, fiery stuff to give you glimpses of in this batch. You can scroll through each image to see the caption associated for a quick description--but I'll elaborate here!
A few things that you're seeing are secret secret. I am allowed to show you little crumbs as long as I do not give any context for the crumbs, or show you the whole meal. ;-) All I can say is I'm out of my comfort zone but learning quickly due to how often I'm working on it! I'll be talking in this month's podcast (coming this weekend) about what it's like to be working on a graphic novel with no prior experience with graphic novels. I feel like I started from square one but am shocked by how naturally it has come to me over time. I hope you enjoy these glimpses of some of the characters I draw every day! :'-D
I have a few more sketchbook pages I'd like to scan for you but that will come later in the month. I've included the one that I worked on in this month's video, with some additions that I made after turning the camera off (call it stage fright? I got some of my better flow going after I stopped recording). I realize I posted this finished page on social media so it's not really secret, but I wanted to upload it here without the border and allow you to zoom in if you so please.
Oh, and--I realize these notes are totally out of order--I apologize for the screenshot of the timelapse replay on my OOTD piece. I merged the layers after finishing without thinking that I might want to show them without color. I'm mainly trying to show you that there was no "sketch" when I drew these. Occasionally I go straight to lineart, keeping the energy and messiness that comes with that!
Phew, lots going on lately. Can't wait to share more with you--we'll talk soon!

Right now I think right now we're waiting on the client to take care of some back-end legal stuff and after that we will possibly have an announcement date. The book itself won't be published until 2022, so anytime between now and then is the only estimate I can give unfortunately :') I promise patrons will be the first to know anything when I can talk about it!
