Leo handed the tied-up diaper to the boy who had been the one wearing it, only minutes ago. Basil cringed as the steaming sack got put into his tiny hands, "Where am I supposed to toss it?" During their adventure, he hadn't thought much about just leaving the dirty diapers in the dungeon, but now that they were in an actual town, some decorum was expected. It was doubtful that he could just toss it in the tavern trash inside, since it would surely stink the place up. Leo shrugged, "I'm not sure. You could ask the front desk about it. I'm sure they have a place for smelly rubbish." The cleric gave the little boy a passing pat on the head and left the room, since he wanted to return to his meal. That left Basil getting redressed, while the smelly sack sat on the floor beside him. His sister and Rin had started to put their things in the closet, after freshening up the space from Basil's noxious fumes. "We'll be going to the hot springs right after dinner, Basil, so don't be running off." His sister reminded him. He responded as if he hadn't even heard her, "Natty, where should I toss my stinky nappy?" There was a frustrated sigh from the teenager and she shook her head at her baby brother's inability to stay focused. "Leo just told you to ask the woman at the front." Basil wrinkled his nose, "I don't want to ask her that. It's too embarrassing...Can't you just zap it into flowers or something?" Rin let out a little laugh, amused at the small boy's thought process. "Yeah, Natura. Can't you turn your brother's smelly little accident into a beautiful bouquet?" Natura looked a little annoyed at that, "Basil, you just need to find where the rubbish goes. I'm not going to use your poopy diaper as a spell component." The other girl still looked amused, "Don't be so harsh, Nat. Your baby brother made some manure for your plants." Basil picked up the warm 'parcel' and held it up with an expecting smile. His older sister was more of an elemental magician, which technically included plants, but that was hardly her focus. Ironically, it was Basil who had an innate magical knack for botany, though his ability was extremely unrefined. "Why don't *you* try turning that into flowers, Basil? You've been slacking off with your practice." Natura firmly put. The little boy frowned and looked down at the lumpy diaper in his palms. He hated practicing his magic and much preferred relying on his other talents. Still, maybe there was something to a little self-reliance? Basil closed his eyes and focused himself on the diaper. Retrieving power from within always felt like he was having to clench his tummy; it was uncomfortable and had been risky since his run-in with the berries. He felt confident enough it wouldn't end in an accident though, since he'd just emptied himself. The boy grimaced and strained. From within the fetid garment, a single small flower suddenly rose up and bloomed. Basil opened his eyes and was met with the disappointment of his unimpressive display. Natura shook her head, "I guess you need to keep practicing, don't you?" Basil looked at it and then held it back up toward his sister with a cheeky smile, "Want a flower?" "I'm good, thanks. Now go get rid of that thing and finish your dinner." There was no avoiding it. Basil had to awkwardly go to the same front desk where they had gotten the room keys and ask the aggravated woman where he could throw something 'stinky' away. He didn't explicitly mention it was a diaper, and he held it behind his back, but the woman could surely smell it. She gave him a disgusted look and referred him to the rubbish bin behind the tavern. So that's where he headed, out into the chilly night air. It'd started snowing very lightly, so he made sure to be quick about dashing to toss the diaper. More than twenty minutes since he'd been forced to get up from his meal, he could now return to a plate that had undoubtedly gotten cold. Heading back into the dining area, he could hear his teammates had gotten further inebriated in a short time; Kris and Bernard were loudly arguing about something, while Leo and Trisha more quietly talked. Basil sat back down at his chair and begrudgingly ate his now lukewarm dinner. It was still hearty and flavorful, but it lacked the freshness that would have made it far more palatable. He paid to get another cup of milk and some soup to warm his belly, finding that he still had quite the appetite. As he dipped his bread into the soup, which tasted of parsnips, he saw Trisha approaching him with his sister in tow. "So you want me to make something that can go in the water?" Natura nodded, "He needs a bath, but with how he's been from the berries, I don't want him having an accident in the springs." The older woman looked at Basil thoughtfully, "I think I can do that. I need some materials though, so I'll have to see if I have everything." The little boy looked up from his soup, "It'd be easier to just tell your boyfriend to cure me." Trisha put her hands on her hips, "It wouldn't be a problem if some little boy didn't keep running off and eating mystery berries in the middle of a dungeon. You can't just expect your teammates to make up for your stupid choices, runt." She had a point, even if Basil didn't want to hear it. His recklessness was a liability, as was his childlike curiosity and weak bladder. Diapering the boy was almost like tethering him, though a more literal tether might have been more prudent. The woman turned back to Natura, "I'll go look in my things. I should have enough latex from the rubber trees we ran into in the forest." Trisha left to look in her material bag, while the teenager sat down adjacent to her little brother. "See? Everyone thinks you need to start thinking more. If those berries had just outright killed you, then I'd have to lug your body all the way to a chapel and hope someone was talented enough to resurrect you! And think of the cost..." Leo was talented, but he wasn't 'raise the dead' talented. Death was a costly thing for an adventurer, and few towns had someone skilled enough to perform these revivals in the first place. "But they *weren't* deadly! They just made me...Umm..." "...Lose your toilet-training? And after it was so hard to teach you in the first place." She sighed, rubbing the bridge of her nose. "I still know *how*! I just can't control it, like a baby..." "Yes, exactly like a baby. Much like a baby that would put something in his mouth without knowing whether or not it was dangerous..." Natura had concern and fear behind her lecturing. While the other teammates were more worried about the recklessness impacting their objectives, the boy's sister was worried about her brother's safety. "...I already said I was sorry. I won't do it again." "I want to trust you, Basil, but I just don't think you're as grown up as I thought. I don't want to take you back home to our village, but I will if you don't behave yourself." They'd been out with their party for a little shy of three months now, and it'd been a hard sell to allow Basil to come along in the first place. Natura was wildly talented in her craft, and she was already nearing sixteen, which was an appropriate age to go out into the world. Basil on the other hand was impulsive and bad at listening to instructions; he'd only turned eight a few months before their departure, and his skills were lacking in refinement. Natura would note that he behaved a little better at the beginning, when it was all so new and scary to him, but that caution had gradually faded away. His redeeming qualities, such as his own unique abilities, were the only thing that kept him from getting punted, as well as his sister acting as his 'babysitter'. Without Natura's protection or his powers filling a needed niche, he would just be another snot-nosed brat. The vast difference in age from anyone else in the group felt more extreme now than ever before. It was like his soiled diapers took literal years off the age that he was perceived to be by the others. He wasn't entirely maligned by that, though. The only two in the group who genuinely seemed to dislike him were Kris and Trisha; Rin and Bernard appeared more neutral, and Leo often came across as paternal. The two siblings would sit in silence, aside from the voracious slurping of a meal well wanted. Basil lifted the bowl of parsnip soup with both hands and gulped down the last of it, dribbling all over his tunic in the process. "Should I be making a bib for him too?" Trisha asked as she returned to their table. "Basil! Manners!" His sister chided, looking somewhat exasperated. "First thing tomorrow, we're getting all of your clothes washed..." Probably wasn't the worst idea, considering that they'd spent so long in that sylvan labyrinth, and with so many potty problems too. Basil meekly wiped himself off with a napkin and went to finish up what was his third cup of milk. "I should have enough material to make something for him to swim in, or bathe in, I suppose. Leo and I will be hitting the markets in the morning, so I should be able to make something a little better later, but for tonight..." Natura nodded, "I'm sure it'll be fine, whatever it is you can do. I'll give you some money to get components with, considering we don't know how long this will last..." That still was the thing that Basil was most concerned with, and nobody else seemed to share his worry. The expectation was that he would suffer this toxin normally as punishment, but what if it didn't subside? What if this was permanent? He couldn't walk around as a giant infant forever! "Basil, I need you to lower your tights and lift your tunic." The woman was suddenly telling him. "...Huh? Why?" "I'm going to make a modification to your diaper." Basil winced and looked around at the sparsely populated bar, "Umm, can't we go somewhere in private?" "Nobody cares about your diaper, Basil. You're just a little kid. Besides, Kris was loud enough about your dirty one that I can only assume the whole town now knows." As was usual with his interactions with the woman, she sounded annoyed with him. Natura nodded, "It's not a big deal, Basil. They're all drunk anyway." The little boy groaned quietly and stood up from his chair. There was no use arguing his case. He quietly lowered his tights down to his knees and then lifted the skirt of his tunic up toward his navel. "Just make it quick, please..." The woman presented a small vial that was full of a milky white substance: latex from the bark of a rubber tree. She popped the cork from the top and began to transmute the diaper around Basil's waist with the substance. One glowing spectacle later, and Basil's diaper shined; the garment had been layered in rubber, and a snug banding had formed around the openings to help keep it sealed against his skin. "There we go! One rubber coated diaper. Water resistant and technically shock proof, in case you go running around in a thunderstorm." The diaper felt a little more rigid now, but the inner confines hadn't lost any comfort. He ran a hand down the front and mentally noted how slippery smooth the rubber had made things. "What do you say, Basil?" "H-huh? Oh, umm, thank you." The boy bashfully muttered, while he pulled the tights back up into place over the modified diaper. "Mmhmm. Whatever keeps the springs clean." Trisha replied, "I might go for a dip myself, while the boys stay here and get hammered. I think a nice soak would be more relaxing than hearing Kris accusing everyone of cheating at darts..." "Rin and I are about to take Basil down that way. I don't want him unsupervised in the men's side, so I was just going to take him with us into the woman's half." Basil's face got a little pink at the lack of trust being given to even bathe himself. If he was a few years older, then he might have seen a silver lining in being surrounded by beautiful women, but he was too young to care at all about that. He did care that he'd be out in a public space in only his diaper though. "Come on, Basil, let's get a move on. Rin already went down there and is waiting for us." The girl took Basil by the hand and started to lead him away. Quietly he trotted at her side, hoping the hot springs wouldn't be too heavily occupied by people. The walk down to the springs was a chilly one, and Basil could see the steam of the water in the air, long before he could see the actual source. Before they turned that last corner, Basil could also start to hear the soft chatter of other people; that shouldn't have been surprising with how cold the air had gotten, but it still made him anxious. The women already in the water didn't look too perturbed by the arrival of more guests, even with one being a boy. Basil was certainly small enough that they didn't view him as being here for any perverse purpose. Natura put her bag down and looked around for Rin; after a few moments of scanning the water, she saw her teammate near edge. "...There she is. Okay, Basil, go ahead and strip down." She told the boy, beginning to disrobe herself. Basil begrudgingly followed her instructions and started to take off his shoes. Piece by piece he would shuffle off the last of his clothes and put them in a pile, until he was down to just his diaper. He heard some giggling coming from the water and his face got red; it was pretty obvious that his undergarments weren't age-appropriate. "Is that little boy wearing a diaper?" "Well, boys are usually later bloomers than girls." "At his age? Must be a *very* late bloomer..." Natura noticed his embarrassment and gave him a pat on the rump to encourage him to take a step forward. "Come on, I brought a washcloth and some soap. Won't it be nice to sleep in a real bed, all squeaky clean?" He got into the water slowly, having to gradually acclimate himself to the temperature, but soon he couldn't deny how pleasant it felt to submerge in the warm water on a frigid night. His sister wasted no time in starting to get his hair washed, and she casually talked to Rin as she bathed him like he was little more than a baby. Basil knew he could have been taking care of this himself, but it was easier to just let his sister handle it, since she seemed so adamant to. Besides, it was Natura herself who had been so determined for him to get clean in the first place; Basil would have had few qualms with going to bed like this, after being outdoors all week. After being satisfied with his hygiene, his sister focused on her own cleanliness, which allowed Basil to wade away to the other edge of the springs. With the 'hard work' done, he could now just relax, and relax he did as he felt a rush of his own warmth coming into the front of his diaper. "...Ah.." "Hey, you're not supposed to be in here! This is the girl's side, and you're a *boy*." Basil looked up and saw a girl who was probably around his age. She was still fully dressed and looking down at Basil with discerning eyes. "...I'm here with my big sister." He excused, before grinning and using his hands to squirt some water up at the sour-faced kid. "Ugh, hey!" She backed away from the water and scowled. "What, are you too much of a baby to go to the boy's side without your big sis?" That hit a little closer to home than he'd like to admit. Especially since he'd just been bathed like a helpless baby, and while wearing a thick diaper... "N-no! I'm a great adventurer! If anything, I'm here to protect her." "Great adventurer? Yeah, right! What can you do, huh? Got any powers?" The hot springs wasn't the right venue to display anything useful he could do, especially if he wanted his lower half to stay under the water. He felt a pressure though, and stupidly, he thought it to be gas, so he gave her a grin. "I can make bubbles." "Bubbles? What kinda power is that? Show me!" Basil pushed and a powerful fart erupted in the back of his diaper; it had such flatulent force that a bunch of bubbles rose to the surface behind him. "Mmph! See? Bubbles!" He giggled. "Eww! That was just you FARTING! You're so gross!" "Gross? I'm just showing you my power!" He taunted. The boy gave another big push, but this time, he was greeted by more than just gas. A large torpedo jettisoned its way into the back of his diaper and crammed against the seat. If it hadn't been so sizable, then he might not have even noticed, but it was a little too large to ignore. The deposit made its own big bounty of bubbles, but the look on his face was a lot less mischievous. "Basil? Are you playing nice over there?" His sister suddenly called out as she headed toward him. "He's being gross and farting!" The little girl accused. Natura took that to mean something else and she let out a sigh. "Basil, did you have an oopsie? Get out and let me take a look..." "Nat, no! I-I didn't do anything..." "I know you *think* that, but I still need to check. We still don't know how effective that thing is for the water..." After a little cajoling, Natura got her little brother out of the water, and his shiny 'swim' diaper was now on full display. The back had a fairly obvious lump too. "Oh, Basil...That's a big one..." The teen noted. "N-no, it's just water-logged...!" Natura reached down and felt the large bulge with the flat of her palm, "I don't think that's water, little guy...I think you're due for a diaper change. Why don't you hang out here for a few minutes while me and Rin finish up? I didn't bring any extras with me, so you can dry off and get redressed." The little girl gawked at the sight of the 'big boy' in a loaded pair of babypants. "I guess you really *are* a big baby...!" Basil wrapped his towel around his waist and folded his arms. He couldn't very well discount her words, not when he'd just proven her right. He might indeed be an adventurer with powers, but he was also a big baby in a soiled diaper.
