Story #101: Getting Down to Business (Part 2)

(Continued from part 1) "...Okay. Gonna go see Jesse." He replied, sitting back up. She looked surprised by that, since her son had been avoiding his friend all this time. "...Oh! Well, I'll drive you, let me just get ready.." "Gonna walk." Jaydyn tersely added. It was only a couple of blocks away, less than a fifteen minute commute by casual pace. His mother looked unsure about it though. She wouldn't have thought twice about it when her son was 'normal', but now after the accident, she was having serious reservations about allowing him to do something so 'dangerous'. "Well...I just don't know..." The answer to her problem suddenly came through the front door; Logan was back from the park, which meant she could send someone along to make sure her more *fragile* son would be okay. She quickly explained things to Logan, and after both boys complained, she asserted that this wasn't up for discussion. So Jay found himself being escorted down the street by his little brother. A little brother that was annoyed by the task that had been foisted upon him. "So, are you finally going to let Jesse see that you're a gross retard now, or what? Or maybe you already told him? I bet he's used to smelly diapers anyways, since his youngest brother still wears them." Logan snidely commented, not necessarily looking for a response. Jaydyn wasn't going to give him one either. Feeding into the bullying that his brother kept attempting wasn't getting him anywhere, and if anything, it seemed to embolden his brother to keep doing it. So he just kept his mouth closed for the full duration of the awkward trip there. Once they arrived at Jesse's house, Logan turned back to leave. "Alright, Jesse can walk you home, or maybe mom can pick you up and your friend can see the baby seat that you have to sit in now." Jay waited for Logan to turn around fully so he could flip him the bird. Once his physical therapy and speech therapy took off, he would have to remember to put Logan in a world of hurt! Shaking off the ire, he took a deep breath and went to knock on the front door. Jesse wasn't the one to answer. Instead, it was one of his little brothers: Danny, the obnoxious seven year old. "Jesse! Jay is here!" He hollered, turning and leaving the door wide open for Jaydyn to let himself in. Jesse had a pretty 'churchy' family, and what that meant was that he had a whole gaggle of siblings that ran the gamut of different ages. Jesse himself was right in the middle at eleven, but there were four younger and four older than him, for an impressive total of eight siblings to live with. Though if he was tasked with watching over his younger siblings right now, then that probably meant that the older half had other things going on. Still, that left four obnoxious brats: Hanna who was nine, Danny who was seven, Stevie who was five, and Grant who was two. Since Jesse only mentioned watching his brothers, that would at least take Hanna out of the equation, but that still meant three ill-behaving little demons were going to be causing chaos. It hardly seemed like the right setting to have this heart-to-heart, but maybe if they put on some cartoons, then Jaydyn could get some quiet time to explain things to his friend. That would be his hope and he'd just have to see how realistic that was. Walking into the living room, it was readily apparent just what sort of chaos this household was to live in. Eleven people lived here, from two to however old Jesse's parents were, and while large, it wasn't a massive space. Toys were scattered, shoes and clothes cluttered everywhere. "Hey Jay! I kinda thought you'd text me that you were on your way." Jesse greeted, coming out of the kitchen and into the living room. Danny had already made his way to laying in front of the TV, and beside him was Stevie, who was shamelessly wearing little more than a shirt that was too small and a diaper that he was honestly too old to still be wearing. As expected, Hanna was nowhere to be seen, and he could guess that Grant was probably taking a midday nap right now. "S-sorry bout that..." Jaydyn meekly shrugged, unsure what else to say, or how he should kick things off. Jesse could sense his unease and shrugged back, "It's all good, dude. Been forever since I actually saw ya, since, y'know..." The blond sat down on the couch in an attempt to play it casual. He knew he really needed to ease Jesse into this, so the collective shock didn't impact their friendship too hard. "Y-yeah...How urr' you?" The other boy raised an eyebrow at the stilted slur, but figured it was just Jaydyn getting tongue-tied. "I'm good...Just been relaxin' and stuff; playing some Halo and getting that rank up. We missed having you for little league over the summer." It was another stinging reminder of what Jaydyn was no longer capable of; he wasn't as focused on baseball as his best friend, but he'd joined the team in past years, and he'd been a great hitter. Running the bases now didn't sound feasible, especially if he'd be hauling a diaper full of brownies around under his uniform. "Y-yeah...Big bummer." Jaydyn agreed, keeping his replies short, so that his mushbrained manner of speaking wasn't noticeable. "...Yeah. So, uh, why haven't you been around? You got out of the hospital a while ago, and I know you needed time to recover or whatever, but we could have at least played some couch co-op or something." As fun as it was to beat around the bush, Jesse's patience had worn thin over the last few months. At a certain point, it'd started to hurt that his supposed best friend didn't want to hang out with him, and then after seeing that post that Luke had made, where *they* were hanging out, that had been the last straw. "I-I ummm...B-been sleepin' lots, an'...uhh...seeing the doc-turr fer' chex-ups.." The garbled stammering came across as a nervous defense. Luke shook his head, "...But you have time to hang out with *Luke*? You've always told me that you *hate* that kid. What's next? Going to start hanging out with Brady?" There was a name that Jaydyn hadn't thought of in a while; Brady had been probably his first friend at school, and it'd been sweet to hang out with the rich kid, but then Brady had been... *weird*, and Jaydyn had cut things off. It'd been right around the time that he became friends with Jesse, in the first grade. Having that memory dislodged, just for that moment, gave Jaydyn a shudder down his spine. What had Brady said or done that'd made Jay end the friendship? It was so long ago now and he'd practically repressed it, but it felt so pertinent in this moment-- "Well? What's going on with you? I need actual answers, dude." And whatever memory he was about to uncover was gone again. Jaydyn shook it off as being unimportant and instead focused his attention back to his current friend. "S-sorry...Kinda long story.." Jesse sighed, "Well, that's why you came over, isn't it? I'll grab some sodas and snacks and you can start from the beginning, okay?" Jaydyn quietly nodded his head. While Jesse was rustling up some refreshments, he caught what the smaller boys were watching on TV. It was a cartoon that he was familiar with, so he let himself get sucked in too. The next thing he knew, Jaydyn had become acutely aware that he was in the middle of crapping himself again. It wasn't rare for him to lapse in and out of awareness of his own bodily functions, and as far as pooing himself went, this was actually the preferable way that it could happen in public. He didn't get all grunty and red-faced, and he didn't announce to the world the foul thing he was up to; it was all business in more ways than one. It still felt odd though, to be sitting there and to suddenly be aware that something was sliding past his buttcheeks and cramming itself into his diaper, without an iota of input from him. He could hear the crackling of the giant turd as it squeezed itself out, and the warmth was already beginning to radiate all throughout the back of the garment around his waist. There was admittedly an infantile pleasure to it all, to have that feeling of relief that he didn't know he needed, and to have it feel so warm against his rump. Now was hardly the time to indulge in the feeling though, considering he was at his best friend's house right now. Jesse came back into the living room with some soda and snacks. He sat down on the couch next to Jaydyn, just as the blond was pinching the loaf in his pants. "Alright, so let's get down to business."
