Story #18: Snow Pants, Know Failure Franklin scooped snow into his hand, using the other one to pat the frigid slush and shape it into a ball. What a wonderful day this had turned out to be! Enough snow had fallen overnight to turn today into a bonafide snow day; that meant no school or homework, just fun out in the Winter wonderland. That meant making snowmen, snow angels, snow forts, and most importantly, it meant snowball fights! And unlike most of the other kids out playing, Franklin had an edge. He wouldn't need to go through the rigmarole of going inside every hour and stripping off all these heavy clothes to take a leak; he'd thought ahead and stolen one of his brother's nighttime diapers. Nobody could tell from any outward appearances. Between the puffy snow jacket and snow pants, any additional bulk was virtually undetectable! In fact, he'd already whizzed a couple of times, basking in the warmth that it granted him. The only thing he was opposed to was going number two in it; besides it being gross and the smell being a dead giveaway, he couldn't sneak back into his brother's room and drop a poopy diaper in the pail without raising some red flags. The problem with that plan would soon make itself known. Franklin had been so excited to get out into the snow, that he hadn't even taken care of his 'business' this morning, and now hours later, he was starting to feel the cramps really rolling in. Even as he tossed another snowball, his belly was crying out in pain. Finally, he would excuse himself from the frosty fray. While everyone else had come in and out, he'd remained steady, up until this moment. Franklin made his way back to his house, being careful as he did not to upset his bowels any further. By the time he was getting back to his door, things were reaching a breaking point for the poor boy. He didn't have time to stop and strip off his snow gear. Each second was precious, so he just dusted his feet on the doormat and quickly began to waddle toward the bathroom, his gait stiff and strained. With every step, he could feel gas slipping out uncontrollably. The little boy began to start pulling off his cumbersome mittens during his stride, and by the time he reached the bathroom, he was able to grasp the knob with his bare hands. Franklin shut the door behind him and started to fumble awkwardly with the buttons on his snow pants; if he hadn't been wearing the diaper, then he could have just slid them straight down, but the extra bulk made that impossible. "C-come on...Come on...Its like the buttons are frozen up...!" He panicked aloud. Another powerful fart blasted against the back of his diaper, and he groaned. The gastrointestinal distress was too severe; he couldn't hold on for even another moment. The boy closed his eyes and put his hand against the seat of his pants, hoping against hope that he could buy more time. It was all for naught. Franklin felt himself tense up, and his body shudder. A large mass began to push itself into the soggy diaper. He could feel a solid bump start to form against his hand, which only made this all the more embarrassing. His pilfered Pampers wouldn't simply take on a 'yuletide log' though, and as if a cork had been popped, a violent flood of mush began to explode into his pants. He just stood there in front of the toilet, for what felt like an eternity, filling his hidden diaper with a massive pile. Midway through the experience and he could already smell his own fumes, through the diaper and through the material of the snow pants. What a snow day this had turned into. He'd thought that he was so clever with his juvenile tactics, and now everything was blowing up in his face. If he hadn't stolen a diaper, and if he hadn't refused to take potty breaks, then he wouldn't be standing in here with a heavy, poopy diaper sagging between his thighs. There was a knock at the bathroom door. "Hey, Frankie! We're about to start another snowball fight! What's takin' you so long?" His little brother called from behind the door. Franklin felt the squishy backside of his snow pants. There was no way out of this, and his brother would never let him live it down.
