I've been meaning to say thank you for this particular Diatribe, Noah. I'm about your age, so I grew up in the stupid satanic panic crap too. I wish I had a long term gaming group even now, but the older I get, the more complications there are. Religion stole those potential activities & friends from my childhood too, and I also realized that if they took a clearly fictional game so seriously, I couldn't take what they wanted to fill my time and mind with seriously. --- (Also, I realized they clearly hadn't read any D&D books and knew nothing about it. Because common six-siders were the only dice available in the earliest days of the game, stat generation was based on them. Rolling 6, 6, and 6 gives you a perfect stat, but the BADD church ladies were too ignorant about the game to take that obvious cheap shot.)

They're how our brain interprets a combination of red and blue spectra coming from the same source. The purplish color of her laptop very much depends on her perception; if it didn't, she'd have been talking about the red and blue colors.
