2019-07-25 16:16:54 +0000 UTCCan confirm that explaining Christianity is often most effective at getting people to abandon it, as it's essentially the same as the old "reading the Bible makes atheists more than Christians" idea. I managed to get my mom to turn away from Christianity by explaining the crazy stuff the Bible actually says, like killing people who work on the Sabbath, or how Yahweh gave Elijah some bears to kill the kids that were making fun of him, or how Jesus killed a bunch of pigs by putting demons in them for some reason. It works because this is the sort of thing that priest and preachers don't talk about, but you can totally confirm is in the Bible, no matter how much they wish it wasn't.
