“Take death right in the heart all at once.” And that’s the moment I broke down. That explains the experience perfectly. My mom died in July. She was my best friend and strongest supporter. Weirdly, the most frustrating part of being an atheist through it meant that I couldn’t scream at god for taking her away, so I just screamed. A lot. But I survived without any of the comforts faith claims to provide. Thank you, Noah, for an excellent and gut-wrenching diatribe.

Welcome to the family!

This episode has one of the best diatribes, but just watching Ed Ripley's hip hop and Forest Gump acts made me feel like I was doing something wrong.

Regarding the diatribe: becoming an atheist has taught me to appreciate life and those around me so much more than when I thought we were all just in one big waiting room. As an atheist, I can examine the death of a loved one and be so fucking happy that I got to exist at the same time they did, even for just a little while. So as cliche as it might be, just living in the moment and acting like each interaction could be our last has given me peace that religion never could.

Why would voting for Hillary years ago help? It’s not like she got fewer votes than Trump.... she got more. It’s not the voters’ fault her campaign didn’t know about the Electoral College.

Brand new member. First time I've supported on Patreon. Great show as usual. I look forward to new stuff every morning first thing!

I'm going to be quoting significant portions of this diatribe the next time I'm asked to give a (an?) eulegy. This was so much better than the lyrics of "For Good" from Wicked, and that usually kicks me in the nethers. Between this diatribe and listening to "Record of a Spaceborn Few", I'm a weepy mess all over again.

I don't listen to you for a laugh to get through the commute. It drops at around 2pm on a Thursday here. I listen because your reason, vitriol, and comedy and your voices are familiar friends who help take me out of my own head and push through the depression. That's one goddamn beautiful diatribe. I hope I get to shake all of your hands one day.

Excellent diatribe, Noah. Thank you.
