There’s no need for others to put her down or dismiss her as “just a basketball player.” Those who suggest 46 had a choice between her and a marine (the previous administration had a chance to bring him home, but chose not to) are making a bad-faith argument.

I’m cautiously hopeful that we’ll be able to return more of our own unjustly held people soon too.
