12ga. MT Round Ball vs ARMY HELMET and more!

Today we test out the MT Round Ball from Goodell Shotshell Co.  Normally lead round balls are a challenge to keep accurate because they tend to deform badly during acceleration.   I had to try mitigate deformation using household materials.

Just for the record. The fires were interesting to see, but I hope we don't get too much of this exotic stuff. I prefer the more mundane sciency stuff. Yes, "Justin Bieber" slug propulsion is a dubious science, but a science nonetheless. Fight me. Aaaanyway. Good video, just don't go overboard with the crazy stuff is what I'm saying. <3 edit: a couple edits, forgot to mention how I thought you'd NEVER get any spin out of that slug. Always^H^H^H^H^H^H^HOften happy to be proven wrong and going "huh. how can that be...? oh, maybe like this..." edit2: not a fan of JBprop, myself, but it's part of the channel identity. Grandfather clause and all that.

Interesting. The British Baker rifle was one of the first to use rifling, which greatly increased the range and accuracy of the round ball, but loaded much slower than muskets. (I'll have to go over to YT and read the whiner's comments. Someone always knows better.)

Remember when that wadding material was precious?
