Japanese Yen coin shotgun rounds

We have shot dimes before but they were pretty bad projectiles.   They would scatter all over the place, some would key-hole,  while others might hit flat.    Most would just miss a large target at less than 10 yards.

Looked like explosively formed projectile pre-forms before they are launched by a shaped charge which shapes them into a tear drop shape and launches at hypersonic velocity. Doing multiples well we'd have to kill you or the Government would have to throw away the key. Doing singles well "hell ya". You would load "ONE" of these dome shaped coins in front of a open 90 degree cone shaped charge and light it off. Now the problem is you need detonation of the charge, remember the word "Explosive" means to detonate. So likely you could not use convention gunpowder without compressing it into the charge pellet. But the problem is most gunpowder has burning rate retarders coating it, so you'd have to clean that off the powder with acetone or something. Then compress the nitrocellulose, into a solid using a press. I would not recommend using double based powder though, as you might get a compression detonation and loose your hands or head. And, it would be best not to fire it in a gun as it could burst the barrel... but if you got a long string you should be fine. Or, you could make a cone shaped barrel to form a blast shield to replace the gun barrel.... too weird!

I really enjoyed the history lesson. Wonder if a SWC will have a similar shock buffer as the dome shape.
