Where I'm at - and NOT at - on social media now

Hey, all! I've decided that I'm done with Twitter. This means that you will be seeing somewhat more from me here on Patreon, and the same over on my Tumblr. I'm also active on the Sims After Dark and Deaderpool Discord servers.

Why?

I simply can't anymore with what Twitter is descending to under the current owner. I especially can't live with how what the site is doing is exactly the opposite of what The Sims stands for – acceptance, equality, LOVE. I'm one step beyond just uncomfortable with my content being part of why someone might be there or with it appearing next to advertising that gives the site support.

Some details. In April, Twitter dropped protections for trans people from its hateful conduct policy; see https://www.nbcnews.com/tech/twitter-changes-hateful-conduct-policy-rcna80338. This past week, a GLAAD annual report found that the site (although definitely not the only one with problems) had gone backwards on 2SLGBTQ+ protections. And today I woke up to find (via my non-Sims-related Mastodon feed) that Elon Musk had said, in a reply to someone, that "cis" and "cisgender" are now considered "slurs" on the site and that the minimum consequence for "harassment" is suspension (this should be findable in a web search without going on Twitter). This is not okay.

So anyway, I won't be posting there anymore. I won't be retweeting information there. I will be deleting my older content. If I need to point out something that's been mentioned on Twitter, I'll be giving you the full info, not sending you there for it.
