Kickstarter question!
Added 2023-10-08 13:28:10 +0000 UTCHello, my friends!
Quick question for you. I am making a special edition of Ritualist, a totally black book with the title on it in silver leaf foil.
There's going to be a bunch of work left to do, but my question is this: do we like this as the image that will be stamped on the cover in Silverleaf, or should I do something else?

Iβm on board for something more complex, leather bound and incredibly fancy. The idea of putting the original ritual from the first cover is a great idea. I enjoy the books of similar type that Brandon Sanderson puts out, and these could be real showstoppers. As another idea, If you wanted these to really look like tomes, you could do these 12-14 inch tall volumes with 2 or more books and make them real door stoppers that could go on a shelf with stamped, gold (or something else) leafed covers that would really grab attention. That would be incredibly pretty. Maybe Iβll look up actual dimensions on some books like that and post them for reference, but you get the idea π

You could spell out Ritualist down the spine and maybe have some hint of CAL on there as well. That would be awesome. With kick starters I think you should go super big and make it flashy as hell! All Lucy starters should be pre order so you donβt waste money on over producing. Then when you are a billionaire your 200-300 genuine leather books will be worth a freaking butt ton of money. I will be putting mine in a sealed box like collectors do with cards. Also you should sign each book. You are a bass ass writer Dakota. Donβt make this cheap and cringy. Make it something that will stand the test of time and that your kids can be proud of to have on their book shelf. And donβt forget to order extras to have on hand for give aways later or for your family to fight over when you pass away when you are 150 years old!
