Behind-the-Scenes at Novus Operandi

Greetings, one and all!

I thought I'd take some quick snapshots of my workspace here at home, and give you guys an insight into what it looks like behind-the-scenes here at Novus Operandi. And spartan, my workspace is not! Rather, I gild it to the rafters with geeky inspiration. I love to be surrounded by things that inspire me and delight me, things that add joy to my life. So, you'll see that reflected in spades.

On one wall, there's the theatrical poster for Masters of the Universe (1987), starring Dolph Lundgren (French version w/ English lettering) and the same for Beastmaster (1982) (Japanese version), along with a few of the new G.I. Joe Classified 6"-scale figures dangling precariously by the punching bag (read as: stress management tool).

Beneath that, we've got the entertainment center, where I take breaks from making games by, you guessed it, playing them! Xbox is my current console of choice, when I want to kick back in the recliner and unwind. But I've played on nearly every console since the compact machines were first created (going all the way back to Atari 2600).

On another wall, we've got a poster of Rey from the Star Wars sequel trilogy in all her glory, accompanied by an S.H. Figuarts 6"-scale version of her. Adjacent is a min-poster for Ash vs Evil Dead, a great streaming series continuation of the Evil Dead movie franchise, also accompanied by a couple of ReAction figures from the Army of Darkness line by Super7. And standing watch beneath them is the ever-vigilant sentinal of liberty Captain Carter, in her glorious 1:6 scale incarnation (11 inches tall) by Hot Toys. Oh, and let's not forget, a poster of Skyrim (one of my all-time favorite games)!

To the right of my desk, we've got a shrine to (my) holy trinity, Batman, Green Lantern, and the Flash, accompanied by a life-sized Green Lantern power battery (for emergency use only). And on the wall adjacent, we've got a series of some of my favorite comic book covers displayed on plexiglass shelves (just like a comic shop), along with a mini-poster of Jane Foster as the Mighty Thor, her Marvel Legends action figure, and the figure of Captain Carter from the same line.

Oh, yeah, and the computer where I do all my work is in there somewhere to!

So, do you all surround yourselves with geeky goodness as well, or do you keep your spaces spartan and devoid of freaky flags. Let me know in the comments below. And...

Above all else, have fun!

Max (Novus Operandi)
