This is the second clerk who has tried to screw Dale over. I am half surprised that he doesn't choose to go on a nlood hunt for clerks at this point.

Warren Elsken

I’m definitely liking Dale’s new mindset and how he is done with letting people take advantage of him. Not that he was a pushover before, but he was too interested in being nice to everyone (with a few exceptions) and it came back to bite him too many times. It’s about time people realize he’s more than just a guy with a title.

Jon Coates

woot! i like how this turned out.

Highfist

the word "bothered" doesn't fix the sentence. "if he hadn’t bothered to devote his power"

His Dad

Typo -- I will make sure you never (have) the option to do so again

Hayden Bishop

It seems like Dale and Cal are integrating a bit. Dale's getting his facets polished to sharper edges, for instance.

Rachel Christensen

Typo -- Dale put his hand over the man’s center, (made? / make) a small cut with the sharpened Mithril knuckle, and pressed his palm against the fresh wound

Daniel Alexander

Finally, Dale is actually coming into his own! I never liked Dale as much as the other characters because most of his accomplishments were not his own. Now though, he might actually turn into a fan fave if he keeps down this path.

Sooo... can we call Dark Elf Duke Dale "Darth Dale"?...and can I have his autograph?

Justin Pieratt

Two typos:..."No matter my personal dislike (of) this man,"...and..."I will make sure you never (have) the option to do so again.”

Justin Pieratt

Two typos: “No.” Dale responded grudgingly, getting a sigh of relief from the rest of the room. “No matter my personal dislike (of?) this man, that is, what others generously say is a man, every single one of us is another cultivator that can stand against the necromantic horde. --- You have until this weekend to make it happen, and if I find that you did it by stealing from someone else, I will make sure you never (have) the option to do so again.”

Justin Pieratt

Dammmn Dale !

Muntu Omnyama

I am so f@#king keen for TCC book 3 to come out.

Duke Dale the Demon Cultivator sounds intimidating as hell.

Daniel Dunn

I normally dont like Dale. I think Dark Elf Duke Dale, the Demon Cultivator the flying Dungeon could grow on me.

Mr IHHI

Awesome chapter:)

-pensively rubs chin- I've got the idea in my head that rather than embracing a pre-existing value, Dale's step into the darker and more effective side of reality is flat-out in reaction to surrounding social factors. I'm not convinced CAL is evil as much as his function of growth requires a certain mechanism to continue turning. I recall in an earlier book (1 I think) he came to terms with Dani that rather than a moral morass, his growth simply requires that the cycle continues. I'm not convinced CAL performs acts from a basis of spite, Like dale just did to that bookkeeper. They come from the same set of Core values don't they? hmm. Perhaps a showcase in how a basis can deviate in growth based on surrounding factors. Thoughts? :3

Dennis Vanderkerken

You realize this is the same person who straight up murdered someone in the first book?

Jacob Santos

I mean fuck. He might skip the c ranks and head directly into the mage ranks.

Jacob Santos

I am not going to say what I did with this chapter but lets just say it involved a candle lit dinner and much consensual violations. Not with another person, myself.

Jacob Santos

I dont see any evil here. Beating up dicks is totally kosher from my point of view. Super excited to see Dale go C rank though. Hes going to be way tougher than most because his aura is so pure, I wonder what his heaven defying battle power is lol. Also just got my signed book Dakota, thanks!

Willful Act of Evil. Stage two villain - Checkmarks Well that was a revelation for our previously dear little sheepherder. Congrats Dale you now Ping as Evil on the Alignment chart until you turn that around. I see an ethics lesson in your future concerning the nature of Truth :D Very enjoyable little chapter, that was a hefty step in applying character development. I'm certain moon elf instructor would be -slightly- less disappointed than usual from this act. I'm noticing Dale seems to be able to fingersnap between aura effects. I AM however surprised that nobody had a reaction to his Smell, given it was specifically stated to be present beforehand. I had completely expected big-ego-noble to smell dale before the impact. But overall the mention of his hygiene just seems to vanish midway, and I didn't read that he cleaned up anywhere. If an Aura Cleaned him up, that tidbit would have been nice. Otherwise that's an environmental factor that was introduced to do nothing? I am heavily under the impression that "Demon Cultivator" is going to stick. Especially since that NPC is very much alive and in a total position to be a chatterbox who does not like being stepped on. That may or may not be an ironic touch to larger events coming in the future that end up being oddly similar and dale can reflect on.

Dennis Vanderkerken

Finally! Dale has finally embraced his inner Cal! Great chapter, thanks for the writing!
