He was having an issue similar to when he had first been advanced to the D-ranks, where his Chi threads were slightly fractured. All he needed to do was gather enough Essence to fill the gaps, but the issue was that he could only repair *one* section at a time. *Once* he got going the usable portion would expand, rushing the *remains/remaining* toward healing.
