Were the rest of the town meant to get sucked into the dungeon too if they all share in the punishment? I'm only seeing the smith, and no description of the rest of the townspeople.

I was hooked from start to finish and I only ended up wanting more when finished. Vikas Adams does an amazing job bringing the characters to life and having the same narrator for both series really helps bring them together.
