2017-12-20 20:22:22 +0000 UTCEven if this book is unrelated from the previous series, there are definitely enough Easter eggs to give pause. Actually Easter eggs are supposed to be more subtle. It is like you are setting the universe on fire to say that this book takes place in the previous one... Unless that is really your intent. Be all obvious, so that people assume that this book couldn't be related except by easter egg level hints, then the "twist" is that they were in fact in the same world all along.
