Yeah, the “one of the good ones” thing is present in lots of situations where bigotry exists against a minority group. This still happens with black people, queer people, and various sorts of non-Christians in the US.

Though another crazy thing happened: my family started saying they had always supported me and had never given me trouble for deconverting or for making videos (this is wildly untrue). We went from living in different realities in one way to living in different realities in another. It did not make the relationship better. Ty for the support. ❤️

All that gas-lighting and lying perpetrated by "morally superior Christians" was pretty sickening. Especially the part where evangelical people considered you "one of the good ones".... Wait, isn't that what 'nice' Southerners used to say about Black people who they didn't hate (at the moment)?
