Every point of this video hit the nail on the head. I hadn’t thought of this in years, but Christopher Yuan visited my college my junior year in 2010… I can still remember the photos he shared of his “wicked partying” days, the guilt and gross shame I felt, the fear of HIV, his desire to make his mother proud, his calm and soothing and authoritative voice. Fortunately, as a pretty closeted gay student, I had some trusted friends and a professor who talked sense into me after. What a student endures for chapel credit…. Looking back on the late 90’s and early 00’s, the grooming of young evangelicals was perfected to an art.
