Why I love Jesus but won't follow him

Post 2/2 for June. I hope you all enjoy this! I've been reflecting on this for quite a while but my Israel trip pushed me to finally make a video about it. The videos have been a bit heavy lately and I've got some more serious topics in mind given all the SCOTUS action lately, so let me know if you'd like some more lighthearted stuff in between. Thank you for your support! More content in the works for July.

Why I love Jesus but won't follow him

Hey Drew! I just joined your Patreon and if you happen to read comments on here I wanted to answer your question at the end. I'm coming out of Fundamentalistm, but I still lean towards progressive Christianity with some agnosticism. I believe in Jesus, and the Bible has some good teachings, but I'm not a literalist. I'm not afraid of tribalism, because in a lot of ways I'm coming out of tribalism. I follow some progressive Christianity pages on IG and disagree with what some of them say while appreciating their views. Still believing in aspects of the faith has made me less tribalist in a lot of ways. That may be because I'm coming out of Christianity as a fundamentalist rather than going into a form of progressive belief as a former athiest, but it's kind of where I'm at. As for the benefits of a "non-believing" or more progressive Christian, I do still find comfort in a lot of the words of the Bible, in believing in a form of God and Christ himself. Now, I'm not saying you must hold belief in a faith to get that comfort like many traditional theists do, but I do still find that in still believing myself even if part of me is quite agnostic these days.
