Apology for lack of updates

I have been having health problems for the past few weeks and have only been able to work on Blockhead for a few hours a day due to tiredness. I spend a lot of time sleeping for 4 hours at a time and feeling fatigued all day. There is a lot of stuff that I wanted to have finished by now that I haven't managed to do so I am very unhappy and frustrated.

I have spent a lot of time working on modularizing the sampler engines and still have not managed to figure out how it should be architected so I may just put this on hold until later and work on the new effects system instead. I have a good idea of how the new effects will work now but implementing is going to require a lot of focus which is difficult at the moment.

An interesting thing about the existing design of having effects attached to the back of sample blocks is that it implicitly provides a sort of "macro" system. A single sound can be designed through a combination of sample manipulation and effect automation and the sound then exists in the workspace as a single element that can be dragged around a copied etc. This would be even more pronounced if I had already implemented the ability to save and recall blocks.

With the new system of having effects be their own blocks I realised this free macro system is going to be lost so I spent some time thinking about how to get it back. The idea I came up with will be much more powerful and will take some time to implement. I was very excited by some of the ideas I came up with and so I have been very frustrated about not being able to properly work recently. I wish I could have at least started working on this by now but at the current rate it is some distance away.

Soon I will probably have to start looking for some freelance work so I can pay my rent so progress will slow down even more for a bit. I may have to put Blockhead on hold for a month or two while I save up some money and then hopefully I can get back to working on it full time.
