Knuckles being called Jacob actually kind of answers some questions I had about him as a character. If as STC shows the echidnas all had pointy knuckles, why would you name an echidna after something that doesn't distinguish him from the rest of his people in any way? Of course, in Dave's canon his knuckles are a mutation, so... I dunno, I guess that also makes sense?
