I watched this episode in the reaction on prime video so I can recommend for a good sync I assume that will be the best option.

also, WHAT THE ACTUAL F! The last episode of the series and I CANNOT EVEN BREATHE IT WAS TRAUMA.

One scene in the book that was cut, was that one of the daughters Aemond didn't choose for marriage basically said something along the lines of "I wouldn't want a half a man anyway" and then Luke show'd up, the reason his eye is gone. Hence why Aemond was fired up. And this is why we don't bully kids ladies and gents. Also, why we probably don't send kids as envoys. AND why we don't teach our kids to hate each other. Although, as crazy as Aemond is, he's the coolest character I swear. Him and Daemon, two sides of a coin.

2025-02-24 23:31:46 +0000 UTCidk the last time a character death affected me like lucerys velaryon. i have a huge weakness for that trope, it runs me through every time. all they have to do is put an adorable unrealistically perfect child on the screen only to die tragically and im on the floor for 6-8 business days. itβs been literal years and i still have not recovered from this poor kidβs demise.

2025-02-10 17:09:07 +0000 UTCooh i never saw visenya as cruel but more so tactful, leading vhagar into multiple battles. vhagar is battle hardened and doesnt take shit from no one it seems like to me lol but also with aemond chasing lucerys, it probably drove vhagar into hunting mode towards arrax. sad for the two littles :(

The showrunners were disorientated at how big of a fanbase Daemon had after season 1 even though they made him out to be nasty- so they made him boring in S2. Now the same thing has happened with Aegon, lets just hope they don't butcher his character in S3

2025-02-09 14:11:56 +0000 UTCThere's a theory about the dragons - that the bond between rider and dragon isn't like with a horse, but more a merging of personalities. Arrax could sense Lucerys' fear and panicked, and when threatened lashed out (much like the boy did during the fight in a previous episode). Vhagar is an old dragon who's had many riders and fought in many wars, and the oldest known rider was the ruthless and cruel Queen Visenya - so its suspected much of that cruelty has been taken on by Aemond, and she's more in control then he is when it comes to violence. It also seems to apply to other dragons and their riders - Caraxes is unpredictably menacing while also seemingly quite sensitive in private (much like Daemon), Syrax is fierce but reserved (like Rhaenyra), etc. A rider without strong will, discipline and a long time bond with their dragon isn't truly in control when things get 'exciting'. A dragon does what it wants, after all.

And I agree, by this point Rhaenys had become one of my favorite characters. Season 2 is pretty wild, oddly enough Aegon becomes another favorite mainly because the actor portraying him does an absolute phenomenal job in the role, we didnt really get much of him this time around.
