I didn't like the end scene it looked good but was only spectacle fir spectacle sake it didn't make sense. She could have ended the whole war and killed 1000 innocent people for no reason. And how was her head not crushed? First poorly written episode of the season in.my opinion. She talks about men destroying the ki gdon yet she has the biggest body count fir no reason

Remember, no one knows about the prophecy of The Song of Ice and Fire except Viserys and Rhaenyra. When he told her he said it was passed from King to heir. Alicent had no idea about Aegon the Conqueror's dream, so naturally she thought he meant their son. Definitely pay close attention to Helaena. When Alicent told Aemond he would someday have a dragon Helaena said "He'll have to close an eye." Then of course he lost his eye and gained Vahgar. What she says is important.

It’s worth considering that Aemond and Aegon were raised much differently than Rhaenyra. Neither of the boys received any love from their parents. Viserys didn’t care about his kids with Alicent and neglected them. Alicent raised Aegon to believe that Rhaenyra would kill him to secure her claim. You asked why they turned out so bad while Viserys and Alicent are good people. It’s because those boys got no love and had no parental figures in their lives.

He was responding to Rhaenyra’s question from that night, and he was telling Rhaenyra that she was the one to bring them there, but he was actually speaking to Alicent

Not as a defence, but her options were limited. Only one way out for larger dragons, and the ramp had been closed. She saw her chance and took it, and those caught in the path of Meleys were there because they were herded there. Its really a symbol of things to come - the innocent suffer because the rulers don't care about them. Ultimately siding with either faction isn't clean. I root for the small folk.

Hannah, you missed a very important detail. When Viserys was dying the “Aegon” he mentioned is the CONQUEROR. About the history the he told to Rhaenyra. He WAS NOT saying that HIS CHILD Aegon should be king! At that moment he thought he was talking to Rhaenyra, answering a question she asked at the end of the last episode. so Alicent got it wrong, because she doesn't know about all that.
