The focus on the dagger is because it's the cats paw dagger, the dagger in Game of Thrones that us used un the beginning to try to kill bran that causes Catelyn to go and take Tyrion and helps start the whole war of the seven kingdoms.

Because the show is written with a heavy Rhaenyra bias and plays on your emotions in order to steer your thoughts from truth and logic. The show actually does a really good job at that....that's why majority of people are Team Black.

The Dagger, which is called the Cat's Paw, serves as a symbol of their duty to protect the realm for the Targaryens. Then, way later in GoT, it starts big events like the War of the Five Kings and is eventually used by Arya to kill the Night King, fulfilling the prophecy. It all ties together!

He said "Aegon's dream" which is the "song of ice and fire"...which Alicent took it as their son who's also named Aegon. lol. Then she says "I understand" ..so now we're F'ed again lol. There was an earlier episode when Aemond asked if he would ever have a dragon, and she said "you'll have to close an eye". She has the Targaryan gift of foresight but everyone thinks she's a bit soft in the head. This episode at the table she said "beware the beast beneath the boards" to nobody in particular. As usual, people just ignore her.

King Viserys was talking to Rhaenyra about the song of Ice and Fire in the middle of the episode. That was about the vision that Aegon Targaryen had way way back about the white walkers coming (Aegon's Dream). Then at the end King Viserys was out of it and still thought he was talking to his daughter. Alicent mistook him talking about the Original Aegon and thought she was saying their Son Aegon (Jerk off in the window). Their oldest son

He then says "you are the one" to alicent, meaning it to be towards rhaenyra, meaning she is the one to unite the realm. Hope this helps!
