Weekend 3 News
Added 2021-07-31 20:58:19 +0000 UTCIt's been a while since the last update and I need to tell what's going on with the project. First let me recap what happened so far:
In 2017 I suffered a wrist injury that halted my art for months, then, after being able to draw again, I finished Weekend 2's last pages at the end of that year.
Shortly after, my friend IndustrialGamer offered help for writing the script for the sequel. I had to take it easy on my hands that year.
In 2019 we came up with the "Weekdays" project, in which he wrote 5 short stories and I made quick illustrations to go along with.
It's 2020. After feeling more confident, I was ready for taking the responsability of starting a big project. But then the pandemic started, my anxiety went through the roof, not sure if I was going to die the next day. I was scared, couldn't start it. I had to take medicine for anxiety and faced a sense of dread when thinking of the future. I made the comic "Our Day" with my fiancé to feel a sense of accomplishment and enjoy moments with him by my side.
Then this year, when things were better, I was ready to give comics a go again, was even flirting with the idea of making a brand new comic.
My friend had been changing and refining his Weekend 3 script for a very long time at this point, and I was waiting for the final version.
We had creative differences on that script. We came to a point where hard-adapting the script wouldn't do justice to what I envisioned for Joel and Dan, and also wouldn't make justice for the emotional piece he had written. For the sake of our friendship, I decided to make a new story from scratch, with what I think will most fit the comic.
Lately I've been avoiding questions about Weekend 3 release because I didn't want to add more weight to what was already a big load on us.
So I'll be writing the new story myself just like I did with the other two comics, a simple project that can allow me to enjoy making and releasing each page for you all.
My script is already structured but still needs some work. Then I'll be making the storyboard thumbnails before announcing the official start.

Just a head's up! The story went through a few alterations since the version I received. And the actual Weekend 3 comic will have a WHOLE NEW IDEA for it, so please take this as an alternate universe of the boys ow0

2021-08-08 12:46:17 +0000 UTCReposting comment... Hi Spike, things would have likely been cut or trimmed down if we were to move forward in creating this as a comic. The original idea was to have a 3-part simultaneous release. The first being the standard release of the comic pages but in multi-page packages, so as to combat the pacing of the heavy story sections. Once the comic would have been completed, there would have been another version of the comic released focused entirely on the story without any sexual content; basically removing any pages that contain intimacy and re-releasing. This way people could have shared with friends who aren't necessarily the target audience but wanted to still enjoy the story and it's themes. It was important not to impose any extra work on Zeta so things needed to be formatted/paced in a way that allowed for a more modular design; meaning simply removing those NSFW pages and re-releasing. And the last part would be the release of the entire script which would be like a Director's Cut if you will, containing cut dialogue, extended scenes and details. The ambitions were high as you can imagine, but I'm thankful for the opportunity. I hope you enjoyed the story by the way :)

I wanted to make something feel very authentic and tell a story about the battle within rather than external issues everyone can see. Was a very difficult challenge but reading comments like yours just means so much.

I might not be the only one to be a little surprised that you two with IndustrialGamer, have a level of requirement THAT high... we love your work so much that it is unfortunately easy to forget the pressure you can put on yourselves... and I completly understand that some projects leads to heavy tensions sometimes. Hope theses darks clouds made their way out to let the sun shine again ^^ In any case, thanks for dropping this script here, it's quite a pleasure to imagine "parallel" stories with this cute duo. In any case, that's a beautiful work here IndustrialGamer ! I'm not an artist myself but we can already feel your dedication right from your preface ^^ There is so much relatable things in your story. You have so much talent and you perfectly interfaced us with somewhat deeper/complicated subjects (but very important ones). Not "hard" to read but still full of feelings and meaning. Anyway, I'm excited to see where we will meet Daniel and Joel again, Zeta ! I hope to find your paw in any other work again IndustrialGamer ;) And more importantly: Take care of yourselves, you two ! And I’m also glad your friendship is still going strong you two! That’s important! And Zeta, thank you again for continuing to make me a huge fan of your artwork and your comics!
