2024-01-02 16:28:40 +0000 UTCYes Jimin wrote the lyrics and composition for all the songs. The album is a reflection of his feelings during the pandemic and it’s super cool because each song follows the other in a beautiful emotional journey. Face off depicts anger and frustration with having been betrayed by the people he once considered friends. Interlude dive is a cherished memory of being with ARMY and doing concerts for them (that has now been lost due to the pandemic) and resulting into drinking to ease his sorrows. Like Crazy is now the escapism phase, trying to drown in the life of fun and good feelings to avoid confronting his apparent feelings of anxiety with having lost his purpose. Alone is the wake-up call, the realization that “no..things are not actually alright.” He starts to question what he is doing and how he can be free from this everlasting darkness without having to destroy himself in the process. And then lastly, Set Me Free is the escape, actual freedom from his hell as he realizes he is the only one who could set himself free. I really admire albums that use the songs to tell a story and this album is so personal to Jimin, I appreciate him for laying it out for us. It’s vulnerable, but also brave. And it’s a plus that all the songs are bangers hah.

Jimin wrote the lyrics and helped with production. This was his first self composed EP and also happens to be his first. He is the only one of the vocal line to self compose his album. Which is amazing because everyone thought he’d be the least likely to do it because he never showed interest before. Imagine writing a #1 billboard song on your first try. Wait till y’all hear indigo. Another self composed album released in 2022 by RM. The boys are talented.
