Comic Update
Added 2022-05-15 19:09:13 +0000 UTCHey Family,
Sorry we've been away so long. It feels like these last few months have been negative so I was holding off on an update but this is just how life is sometimes. We've been delayed with comics and commissions because last year Simon learned he was diabetic. We've been treating it and changing his routine but three weeks ago he learned it got drastically worse. This meant new medicines and difficulties with getting prescriptions our insurance covered. Simon was feeling awful and was having trouble focusing through the day. I'm glad to say though with some diet changes and some relaxation, he's feeling better and has a follow up appointment next week to check in with our doctor. His blood sugar has been perfect the last three days and we're hoping it continues. Our goal is to reverse the diabetes but it will take some time.
I apologize for taking so long to update everyone. I was hoping we'd get it under control sooner but unfortunately that's not how medicines work. Also apologies to everyone waiting on a commission. We're back to work again and will get art out ASAP.
Once again thank you for your patience. It's been a hell of a year, huh? Hopefully life's thrown enough challenges our way for a bit and we'll catch a break for a bit!
We hope you're all having a good Sunday today. Biggest, warmest hugs! <3

A thing that really helped my friend Christopher was he started working out and doing cardio and his high number became a lot more stable.

You have to take care of yourselves. Hope Steve is on the mend soon and hopefully when he's all better I can start requesting my Machoke commission/s with him.

2022-05-15 20:20:14 +0000 UTCMy husband became diabetic a couple of years ago and it took over a year to find a treatment that worked for him and didn't make him sicker. In the end diabetes was about the only thing that didn't kill him. But I understand the stress and the worry. You have to do what you have to do. At the end of the day, your lives are more important than your job. 😘

2022-05-15 20:18:48 +0000 UTCI'm type II for about 4 years now. On the border of pre and full diabetic. Every medical professional I speak to all say the same: bariatric surgery, as I have what's called metabolic syndrome. Most type II diabetics do. Depending where you are, even medicare will cover the surgery and its done laproscopically. If his has progressed that badly that fast, you may want to look into this. It will also reverse or at least significantly ease sleep apnea (I also have).

2022-05-15 19:49:58 +0000 UTCDiabetes, no matter the type, can be a massively lifestyle changing diagnosis. Way more important to focus on that and get it under control. Wishing a stable and steady recovery and the best to you guys!
