Comic Update

So as many of you know, I come from a toxic upbringing. Most of you don't know seven years ago Simon and I moved to Florida with my mother, our two nieces and our nephew. It was an attempt to move away from toxic family/environment in NY and do better as a family. Unfortunately we were never able to achieve that and my mother moved out two years later, taking the girls and JJ with her. It's been five years of Simon and I taking care of the house and four of them with JJ. Unfortunately with JJ leaving us, my mother has decided it's time to claim she owns our house, even threatening to force us to sell it. As a result we've got until April 1st to buy her out and she wants $15,000. It's more than she ever put in but we've been advised she has a legal claim to the house and do what we can to come up with the money.
I'm letting everyone know this because it's going to have an affect on our comic delivery as well. We have to take more contract work and commissions to get there. Luckily for us we have two credit cards we can get almost half of the amount from, but there's still a lot to raise. While the timing is awful, we realize we have to look at the silver lining; this is the chance to get my mother out of our life once and for all. We tried so hard but you can't force people to do better.
We'll do our best to keep regular delivery of comics, I just wanted to let you all know what's going on if we're late again. Once we get the money saved up, we'll get right back to our regular schedule.
Thank you for sticking with us through this dysfunctional chaos. I would have thought my mother would have been grateful we raised JJ for her the past four years but hey, threatening to sell our home out from under us might be a sign of thanks in an alternate universe. Who knows, right? (You gotta laugh at it some or it'll just make you cry)
We'll get through this!

How much for a commission, I would gladly pay for one to contribute to the house fund. A commission drive would be a cool idea. Or an art sale of your older works in your portfolio to raise funds.

I only hope that yes things will get much better and that the finances are not too bad and will be solved soon!
