AJ & Magnus Season 8 Begins

Good Morning Family!

As we begin work on the eight season of AJ & Magnus (woohoo!) I wanted to take a moment to thank you all for being here and showing your support. This last year has been rough on all of us and created a lot of new life challenges or stressed existing life challenges even more and we all deserve a big hug for pushing through! We've lost a lot of support over this time and it's expected with so many people struggling financially. I also feel like it's partly my fault for not being as regular with the comic as we should be. There's really no excuse, depression just got the best of me and I need to work harder to handle it better.

We've had to make some changes to our tiers system because since Patreon's creation they've changed their own systems and affected how we get paid. For example, it used to be $1 was a great way to offer a base tier of support, now Patreon recommends no less than $3 as a base tier. After a lot of discussion, we've decided not to change anything with the tier amounts and instead will just let everyone know we value their $1 support because it just seems wrong to tell people they need to contribute more when they're unable so we're going to leave it as-is. That being said, after the release of our next book collection, it'll be the $5 tier to get your name printed in it. We still intend to release an online list of our supporters for ALL tiers of support, but we wanted to do something to reward the people who are able to support the $5 tier since we need this support more than ever. I really wish we didn't have to ask for anything but the reality is we're a niche comic with limited appeal so we rely on the people who enjoy what we do and think representation is important. To this day we're the only LGBTQ+ comic on the world's biggest Comic Website GoComics.com and it's thanks to you we're even there!

As most of you know we've got some work to catch up on. We still owe certain people  drawings and I need to be more reliable with game dev videos and updates. At one point we were close to making the comic our full time effort but we're a long way from that now so we're still doing contract work to pay the bills. Between Covid and our own disappointing performance, this is expected and a wake up call for us to try harder and do more. 

Thank you again for your support. We love the comic and we'll work harder to make sure we show how much we appreciate you as well. I hope everyone understands the changes to our tier system. Please do not feel any pressure or obligation to change your support if it's going to cause you to struggle, you gotta take care of you first! We're excited for Season 8 and we hope you are too!
