Q&A: How Does it Feel Knowing You Built Your Own Fandom?
Added 2019-11-10 19:52:14 +0000 UTCHey! First off I just want to say this Q&A is a fantastic idea! I love when creators make opportunities for fans to communicate with them!
My question is this: There are a lot of geeky/nerdy elements to your comic. As fans of various fandoms yourselves, how does it feel knowing you built your own fandom that people love and care about? PS: I absolutely adore how John calls Alex ‘Pup’. It never fails to make me smile. Where did the inspiration for that nickname come from?

Hey Kacey!
You know, it's odd but we don't really think of it as a fandom, we view it as something we're fans of with others. That might sound a bit odd, but when we write stuff it's about what we wanna see and read about. There are times I'll go back and read older books and laugh because I've forgotten something we did. We're just really grateful that what we create can be related to by others, especially the people who help us continue to make comics. If what we create reaches millions or just a few hundred, it really is worth it just to be able to do what we do and put our stories out there.
I think of Simon as my pup. He's a feisty little guy but needs lots of love. So it was natural for Pop to view Dad the same way <3
