Q&A: When Did John and Alex Know They Wanted to be Fathers?

Hey guys!

Growing up I knew the one thing I always wanted to be was a father, and apparently it ran in the genes because my entire family seemed to have loud biological clocks telling them to reproduce. Well, me being gay seemed to throw a wrench in those plans for me, but as my life progressed and especially after seeing these comics, I felt renewed in that I could still be the person I always wanted to be.

My question is when did they know they wanted to be fathers? John took in AJ after his friend died, but were there any thoughts of it beforehand? And for Alex? Thank you both for being a continuing inspiration!

Hey Tommy,

Thank you for sharing that. We've actually got a long term goal of telling two stories of how they met and their first ventures into parenting. We'll hopefully get there one day! But, no, John and Alex were not at all ready for or expecting to become dads. Things became as they did out of wanting to do the right thing and taking a huge leap of faith. At the end of the day I think even planned families still follow this formula because no matter how much planning you do, life has a way of throwing challenges at ya to keep things interesting!
