Seattle 10,000 and the Patreon Update

Ohhhh wow there's a lot to go over! Hey everyone, long time Patrons, and all the recent new ones, I love you all and I'm so glad that you're here! There's a few things to go so I'll be direct: 

Tier 4 Patrons - after the panel being down for many weeks, its finally back up and the MasterWorld server is back :) Scroll through the Patreon Published posts to find the post for it to add yourself to the whitelist and get the server IP.

Everyone - So I'm sure you've all been wondering whats going on with the maps since we haven't produced any in a while. Basically what happened is we started working on Seattle10,000 in January and went hard for most of the month. But its been really difficult doing 10,000 buildings and progress has definitely slowed compared to the first month launch, but we are still working on it.

I've been working on my own mini-kingdom within Queen Anne, the Seattle location for Seattle10,000, for essentially all of 2022 up until a month ago when the whole panel crashed and went down. My personal goal is to build 1000 buildings myself, and I'm already at about 350, I estimate the remaining 650 to take me the rest of the year.

I could finish it sooner, but doing it 12 hours a day for the last couple months and not uploading to my channel essentially almost destroyed traffic to BuildTheEarth. I came to the realization that I'm much more useful to the project prioritizing Youtube instead of holding an event solely on my shoulders since some builders have abandoned it.

I will finish my 1000 buildings and at that point we can make it available as a downloadable map. But I don't know if Seattle10,000 will ever genuinely be finished. We're at 5,000 buildings so far and Queen Anne has a long way to go before its fully finished.

So realizing that I should prioritize Youtube, I have for the last month and its really turned around traffic and excitement for BuildTheEarth. But this new weekly format of videos about the project doesn't involve any building, which wouldn't be good for you guys because I know you want to keep getting new maps! So here's the new plan for that. 

I've been making and building a list of interesting locations in the world that people would really want to see, videos that would really do well, locations small enough that a single builder or small group of builders could build it over a number of weeks or months. Once they're finished with that location they can let me know, we slot it into my weekly video schedule, release it, and the map to Patrons. 

I really think this system of featuring builders exclusively in the weekly videos will create incentive for a lot of these projects going simultaneously, this will allow new content for you, the patrons, really cool and amazing jaw-dropping locations that we couldn't do previously. 

Tier 2 Patrons - This new plan goes at the builders own pace, which means sometimes we might get 3 new map downloads in a month, sometimes 0. For that reason on any month where we don't have a new map yet I'll cycle back through previous Build It 1:1 locations that you perhaps missed, huge completed areas that you wont want to miss :)
