Timelapse uhh Thursday: Demon Kacchan
Added 2021-10-28 16:43:49 +0000 UTCSorry the second timelapse of the month came a little later! I also remember the three witches I promised to draw 💀 BUT EITHER WAY! Here’s the second timelapse, and the illustrated fic and pic will drop on Halloween.
Clearly I struggled with this piece. I honestly forgot quite how many times I completely changed direction and started again until I looked back at the timelapse myself. I’ve been trying hard to push myself in my art, I still feel very much like an amateur. Which, is FINE honestly when you’re just drawing for fun, but I wanna step up my game. I tried a new technique halfway through painting this piece, where I did all the shading on a base layer, and then put the flat colours on an overlay layer above. I think it worked pretty well in this instance! However, it’s not proven to be as effective for every scenario, definitely better for the darker scenes.
