Man, these have been depressing recently, huh? The picture above is about five hours old as of this posting, it is the VERY well-defined eye and eyewall of Hurricane Milton as of about noon EST. That is what is prompting this chat.
So, look. I got lucky with Helene. Couple of 1-3 minute power outs, some shingles, one tornado siren, no biggie. Milton SHOULD miss me to the south, maybe drop a few million gallons of rain and get a bit gusty around here. Thing is? Not predictable. I have been in full scramble at work preparing for disaster recovery, then got home and did the same. If that thing twitches north, my family is running for the hills at a speed that might generate a sonic boom.
What does this mean for you? Well, in the event of a disruption, my November posting schedule will get screwy. I will prioritize commissioned works (I’m Blue and Going Batty), but might have to depend on standby writings to fill the gap. Miraculous World might be it, so might my present one-shot I’m working on for Halloween.
If that happens it also means that I lose my shot at going for NaNo, which will slow down my progress on In The Mirror Book 2. I have a lot of story left to tell, so I definitely will shed a tear if that gets delayed.
October is set, all posts here (and on ScribbleHub, for that matter) are pre-scheduled already. Hopefully, nothing big happens, the storm decides to wuss out before landfall, and this post will be a waste of five minutes of my time. I didn’t get this far on hopes, though, so I’m trying to get ready. Thank you for your patience as I do so.
As usual, I remain on deck, here and on Discord, to answer any questions
