A Memorial Day Message
Added 2024-05-27 16:08:22 +0000 UTCIt is Memorial Day in the US. Please, take a couple of minutes out of your day to remember the fallen. Whether you think the wars were just, the warriors were largely good people doing the best they could. I’ve got a few too many ghosts in my own past to enjoy barbecues today, but if that’s your thing then have at it.
I’m also going to specifically remember the one who made it home, but couldn’t make it from there. I’ve lost way too many to the 22. If you know a veteran who’s struggling, reach out. Today is not easy for them.
If nothing else, look up the poem “Fiddler’s Green”. Though written for the Cavalry, most of the Armed Services have taken it up in memory.
