“GO! GO! GO!”
“Oh God! They are moving in from the south-“
“We have enemy contact from within the city-“
Within the city of San Francisco, it was a scene of pure chaos as civilians ran for their lives while the military forces fought hard to protect their home from their enemies.
Unfortunately, it was not to be.
The entire city had already gone dark ever since the enemy attacked, because of their Ahab reactors, making it near impossible for the regular infantry and armored divisions to make any difference in the fight due to a lack of communication.
In this darkness, the civilians ran like headless chickens, not knowing what to do.
Looting stores, breaking into homes, killing and pillaging their fellow man by taking advantage of the chaos, and much worse crimes were being committed in the open, showing the dark nature of humanity when they are caught off guard or when they are pushed into chaos.
Meanwhile, those who were supposed to protect them, those who were meant to uphold the law and protect civilization, were dying by the dozens as the enemy relished in the suffering of their people.
The Zaku-Frames with SAU colorings fought valiantly with the help of air support from the nearby base while the infantry and armored divisions made of combat Mobile Workers did their best to hold their ground.
Unfortunately, the enemy was someone who had already anticipated such a response and armed themselves accordingly.
The moment the Zaku took to the skies with their boosters, trying to search for the enemy’s location with their advanced equipment, they would be shot out of the sky with powerful beam cannons, forcing them to stay on the ground and continue fighting.
The SAU navy off the coast was caught in a different battle as the enemy ships employed powerful kinetics that were treading the line between regular weapons and railguns like the Dáinsleif, forcing the ships to maneuver away from the city for the sake of their own preservation.
To the south of the city, from Morgan hills, the enemy employed artillery, shelling the city and killing anything that moved. The muzzle flashes of the artillery cannons illuminating the colors of the Gilda Mobile Suits using the artillery, showing jet black paint jobs and no serial numbers, which meant that these usings were meant to be black ops units and expendable in case they were ever discovered.
For the people of San Francisco, one of the main ports of SAU and an important supply base for its armed forces, it was a night of terror.
It was only the morning that reinforcements from the rest of the armed forces arrived to find a dead city reduced to rubble.
While the majority of the civilians had somehow managed to escape, the same could not be said about the armed forces.
Zaku-frames lay scattered across the city, with their armors melted and most of the pilots dead, and those that were still alive, wishing for death to claim them.
As for the infantry, they were simply massacred by the enemy with their own anti-infantry Mobile Workers.
The same went for the armored division, as the enemy had employed H-Type Mobile Workers equipped with rail cannons.
The massacre of San Francisco would cause a stir in the geopolitical scene the likes of which had not been seen since the Calamity War, making tensions rise between the four Economic Blocs.

“The test was a success then?”
“Yes, Mr. President.”
Dr. Amara Vinh stared at the combat data on his datapad, looking through the details of his covert operation last night.
Just like Mr. Montag had promised him, the Beam cannons had made short work of the Zaku-Frames that the enemy fielded, while the new H-Type Mobile Worker that he was provided with worked wonders against the SAU’s armored division.
The advantage of using the Ahab reactor-equipped Zaku-Frames that Montag gave him also proved to be a boon during the nighttime raid, since their ability to disrupt electronics worked in their favor during the entire battle.
Looking at the data, Dr. Amara could not help but laugh a little.
“Looks like those fools never imaginged that someone would break the rules about bringing an Ahab reactor into a city and failed to prepare a contingency.”
“…Respectfully, sir. I think you are wrong?”
“Oh!? Please explain.”
The General of his forces and the one who led the attack last night, Abel Chao, started speaking at his leader’s words.
“They did prepare for the eventuality of such a thing. Our forces that infiltrated the various government infrastructure and military outposts found that the walls were lined with Half-Metal, meant to shield them from Ahab reactor interference. However, it would seem that Mr. Montag’s machines were specifically tuned to weaponize the Ahab particle interference to work in its favor so the thin Half-Metal shielding failed against the intensity of the particle emission.”
Dr. Amara leaned back in his chair with a contemplative look.
“I see. That definitely makes more sense. Anyways, the attack was a success. That is all that matters.”
“Now, all that is left is to wait for the accusations to start flying and tensions to rise.”
“…Mr. President, are you sure about this? I mean, it is clear that Montag wants another war between the four blocs, especially since our intelligence groups and spies across the system have found his presence across every force in existence.”
Dr. Amara smiled at those words.
“You are right. He wants total war spread across the solar system to achieve his naïve goal of ‘purging’ Gjallarhorn’s corruption. The foolish kid doesn’t even know that we and every other force worth its salt already knows his true identity and his goal.”
“However, that does not mean we can’t use his actions for our own advantage and discard him when he is no longer of use.”
“….Then-?“
Dr. Amara nodded silently at his unspoken question.
“We will proceed with our R&D. Mr. Fareed fails to realize that by unlocking the beam weapons technology and railgun technology that his organization has kept under lock and key for so long, he has unintentionally opened a Pandora’s box that can no longer be closed.”
“For that, I must thank that brat. If not for his efforts in spreading that technology as far and wide as possible, we would never have managed to gain the final few bits of data and technology that we needed to complete our project.”
The General nodded and saluted to his president before walking out, leaving the president of the Oceanian Federation to contemplate the data on his pad.
“When Project Damocles is completed, we will finally have revenge for what those western bastards did to us during WW3.”

Looks like the Company has to take control sooner rather then later.
