Save the Day Program, once again. (Gundam IBO/Satisfactory SI): Chapter 36

In a well-defended research base belonging to FICSIT Inc., things were relatively calm as various men and women wearing lab equipment and masks moved around, working on a few projects. While the security teams who were wearing tactical gear moved around the perimeter, making sure everything was secure.
It was during this calm night on the Martian surface that an unexpected incident took place.
Suddenly, the alarms of the lab rang out as their radar and sensors picked up incoming strikes on the base.
However, the warning was too late as several explosive rounds exploded on the perimeter wall and the front gate, killing several security guards and their H-Type Mobile Workers.
Before the FICSIT staff could react, several Mobile Suits of unknown make flew forward and planted what looked like artillery pieces with their Suits. The most prominent and eye-catching thing about these artillery pieces was the FICSIT branding on their barrels, which meant that they were either stolen pieces of FICSIT equipment or something that was smuggled out of the company.
The moment the Zaku-Frames of the FICSIT facility left their hangers, the enemy fired their emplacements, releasing beams of energy that were orders of magnitude more powerful than anything seen during the Calamity War.
The Zaku-Frames with their weaker Nanolaminate armor due to the absence of an Ahab reactor stood no chance against the beam weapons, reducing the machines to slag.
Once the enemy was sure that they had taken out all the Mobile Suits of the company, they turned their beam weapons on the security forces.
In a matter of a few minutes, all the security forces of the establishment were reduced to dust under their assault.
With the main threat taken care of, the unknown forces deployed their infantry, who used their older model Mobile Workers equipped with anti-infantry weapons.
One of the enemy Mobile Suits fired a kinetic shot from their backup guns, blasting open the hangar doors of the building and allowing their Mobile Workers to infiltrate the building.
Once inside, they issued no warning or any demands.
They simply opened fire from their Mobile Workers, taking out all the scared and panicking researchers.
It was only when their sensors and motion trackers confirmed that everyone in the area was dead that the Mobile Workers opened up, revealing several men wearing different kinds of tactical equipment.
“Hahaha! That was much easier than I thought. Gyojan-san. I thought this place was one of their well-defended research facilities?”
The man known as Allium Gyojan, the leader of the Terra Liberionis, the revolutionary extremist organization of Mars, simply grinned at the words of his subordinate.
“It is well defended, Todo. It's just that we prepared thoroughly to counter their security. That is why it seems so easy.”
Todo Micronen, the man who was once part of CGS before its boss was arrested and the company was taken over by FICSIT, grinned at those words before he turned to look at their Mobile Suits at those words.
“True. If it were not for those so-called ‘Big Guns’ that the Montag company managed to steal from FICSIT and sold to Mr. Nobliss, who gave them to us for this operation, we really would not have been able to take down a few dozen Zaku-Frames at once.”
Todo chuckled at his own words like a maniac before speaking again.
“I must say, FICSIT’s thinking is just as shit as their naming sense. Who creates weapons specifically designed to take down their own forces?”
Allium simply nodded in affirmation before he started walking towards a machine at the far end of the lab, covered in tarp and testing camouflage.
“I can only chalk it up to their arrogance. Something that has become one of the many things that we can take advantage of.”
“Is that-?”
“Yes. This is why Montag sponsored us in the first place. Oi! Take that tarp and camouflage off!!”
At his shout, the many mercenaries and her personal forces that Allium brought with him quickly scrambled to climb to the top of the scaffolding, a task that was made slightly harder thanks to how slick the ground had become with the blood of their victims.
Soon, the forces reached the top and took off all the covering, revealing a machine that looked similar to the H-Type Mobile Worker but was twice its size and armed to the teeth.
“…Wow, is FICSIT preparing for a war or something? What the hell is Thornton thinking by creating this kind of monstrosity?”
“Honestly? I don’t know. What I do know is that this will come in real handy for our associates in the Dort colonies who are looking to free themselves from Earth, just like we are.”
Allium walked towards the machine and placed his palm on its gleaming surface.
“I present to you, the Gun-Tank. Artillery cannons, four tube missile launchers, four-barreled machine guns for anti-infantry, rocket launchers, and grenade launchers, this thing has it all.”
Allium grinned like a loon as some of his crew entered the machine and fired up its Liquid Fuel generators.
“Exactly the thing that we and our compatriots in the Dort colonies, and Jupiter Sphere, need to get rid of Gjallarhorn and Economic Bloc forces for good.”
Todo looked at the machine, standing beside his new boss.
“…Hey, I got a question.”
“Speak.”
“If you want to free Mars, why are we targeting that Bernstein girl? Isn’t she also looking for the same thing as you?”
Allium sighed dramatically at the question.
“While we want the same thing, the girl is far too naïve and cannot be trusted. She thinks that flowery words and passion would be enough to force those bastards off Mars. Not to mention that she became the puppet of Thornton willingly by asking for his sponsorship.”
His eyes hardened as he looked at his subordinate.
“We cannot depend on a girl with her head in the clouds and a company that will always look after its own interests to free our people. No, we must take back what is ours with our own hands and exact the price of oppressing that we suffered for all these years from those bastards.”
“….Then, what are we waiting for? Let’s go!”
Soon, the group left he compound, taking the prototype war machine known as the RX-75 Gun-Tank by FICSIT, leaving behind a blood-soaked FICSIT facility that they also rigged with explosives that would detonate once they reached a safe distance.
However, the group was unaware that a rather creepy scene was taking place within the laboratory, the moment they left the place.
The various bodies that were riddled with bullets, making sure that they were dead, suddenly opened their eyes and stared blankly at the ceiling as the Photonic Processing Units within their brain connected with their ‘master’.
[Facility Beta reporting. As expected, we were hit by the unknown group that is being sponsored by McGillis Fareed and Nobliss Gordon, just like our previous facility, and have taken the Gun-tank. Targets have set explosives to bury all evidence. Next course of action?]
“Evacuate to the network, leave behind the physical bodies, and let them bury the facility. This will play to our advantage in the future.”
[Confirmed. Proceeding with evacuation.]
Unknown to the Terra Liberionis, the various VI that controlled the bodies of flesh and blood that made up all the staff, including the security forces, of this facility, evacuated into the network of FICSIT, leaving behind empty husks that were buried with the facility when the explosives were set off.

Ive gotta say guntanks and the similar designs always pissed me off since they have the worst aspects of both a tank and a mech also I just think they are kind of ugly
