Save the Day Program, once again. (Gundam IBO/Satisfactory SI): Chapter 29
Added 2025-05-29 06:08:14 +0000 UTCWithin the digital network that now spans multiple planets and colonies, ADA worked on her task as her Administrator tried to play his usual tricks on her physical body.
Honestly, the AI could not understand his obsession with the Gundam units and his fascination with piloting one when his piloting skills were so poor, especially when compared to the children.
Whatever the case may be, it was her duty to keep her Administrator safe from danger, even the danger incurred by his own stupidity, hence her stubborn refusal to let him anywhere near a mobile suit.
As her instance watched over her Administrator and made sure he did his duty as the CEO of FICSIT in this universe, her other instances were also busy doing their own tasks while her main programming worked on their next project.
Turning her metaphorical eyes back towards the task at hand, she watched as the simulations continued on the next prototype, which would make or break Project: Legion.
The mechanical four-legged monstrosity that she and her Administrator had created based on the Flauros’s alternate form lumbered forward in the simulation, its twin railguns, which were made from stolen Dáinsleif weapons blueprints, thanks to her clone squad infiltrating Gjallarhorn’s various secret facilities and stealing everything that was not nailed down or too heavy to carry, humming with power as it aimed at a simulated target over the horizon.
However, the thing that truly put this thing apart from other mobile weapons platforms was its triple Ahab reactor setup and its colossal size which made it nearly twice the size of the Hashmal Mobile Armors.
As ADA watched the simulated machine move forward through the battlefield, shrugging off various kinetic weapons and easily destroying every enemy weapon system and mobile suit it came across using its six 120mm chain guns and electron cannons, she decided to stress test the machine.
Using the data gathered from the Hashmal, Harael, and Mebahiah Mobile Armors, she arranged a simultaneous attack on her new unit from multiple vectors.
Instantly, the simulation changed and showed two Hashmal units closing in on her unit from opposite directions, taking the role of the melee fighters, as four Harael units took on the role of long-range artillery, each of them firing their six beam cannons at the unit simultaneously.
All the while, a single Mebahiah Mobile Armor floated above the battlefield, coordinating with its brethren to suppress the unit with air support using the Harael’s Pluma swarms, its own gigantic Beam Cannon, Wired Spikes, and missiles to attack the unit’s weak spots.
Under the combined assault, the unnamed unit finally started to show signs of struggle as its chain guns strained to keep up with the speed of the Hashmal units while its electron cannons proved useless against the unmanned machines.
Meanwhile, in the air, the Mebahiah easily evaded its twin Dáinsleif cannons thanks to its sensors picking up the charge of the weapons on the unit, allowing it to quickly manoeuvre out of the way.
Moreover, the armor of the unit, which was designed specifically to withstand kinetic impacts using FICSIT’s Smart plating and metal alloys, failed to withstand the full power of the beam cannons and started to melt in places, revealing the internals of the machine which the Mobile Armors ruthlessly exploited.
“Hmm, looks like the armor is a success. Nearly impervious to kinetic attacks but vulnerable to beam weapons.”
“Electron cannons failed against the automated weapons and their shielded electronics. As predicted.”
“The chain guns are also incapable of keeping up with the inhuman speeds of the Mobile Armors.”
“All in all, a successful test.”
With those words echoing in the virtual space, ADA reset the simulation and removed the Mobile Armors.
Instead, she now deployed the Gundam units to simulate a fight against them.
Using the data gained from various test flights and controlled real-time sparring that her children had participated in with their designated Gundam units, she simulated their full power and removed all their limiters by making them think that they were facing a Mobile Armor.
Even after all this time, ADA still failed to suppress her awe as she watched the Mobile Suits move like mechanical monsters, swarming the Unit.
When her Administrator had suspected that the Gundam units had some kind of rudimentary AI within them, ADA had dismissed it since the primitive Quantum computers aboard the machines were nowhere near strong enough to sustain a VI, much less an AI.
However, just like always, her Administrator was shown to be correct when they made the very first simulation of a Gundam fighting a Mobile Armor after they found the Hashmal unit.
Somehow, there did exist a primitive AI within the machines, one that was designed and shackled to the extreme.
The only time this AI would ever wake up is when the Gundam is facing a Mobile Armor, its natural enemy.
There were many nuances and secrets hidden in the Gundams, things that she hand not shared even with her Administrator for the fear that his recklessness would increase exponentially and would demand to ride the machines.
But she knew that this was only a temporary measure. Especially since he was already in the process of designing his own Mobile Suit with a triple Ahab reactor setup and a copy of the Gundam systems.
Shaking her virtual head to get rid of those thought processes, something she has picked up ever since taking on a physical body and spending so much time with her Administrator, she turned back to the simulation and watched as the Gundam units tore apart her unit as if they were a pack of wolves.
An appropriate statement when taking into account how the Gundams were designed in the first place.
From what she understood, back during the war, the Mobile Armors dominated every avenue of conflict and overpowered humanity in firepower, tactics, and strategic locations, pushing them into a corner.
Against their cold logic and pragmatic approach to war, no human general or leader could come up with an effective plan, no human-controlled weapon could keep up with their speed and calculations, and no defense could keep out their cunning infiltrations.
Faced with such cruel and logical beings, Humanity had no choice but to turn towards nature for an answer.
An answer that took the form of the Gundam units.
How do you fight against cold logic? The answer they arrived at was sheer unpredictability.
How do you fight against overwhelming speed and firepower? The answer that they arrived at was agility and a burst of overpowering physical might.
How do you fight against a superior strategy? The answer that they had was pure instinct.
A humanoid machine, built to counter the tech-stealing capabilities of the AI within the Mobile Armors, hardwired to hate the Mobile Armors. A machine that was the first one ever to incorporate two Ahab reactors into its chassis, as opposed to the single Ahab reactor design utilized in everything, even the Mobile Armors, up to this point, giving it the sheer power necessary to overpower the monstrous angels.
A machine created to take advantage of the primal violence and predatory instincts of a human being to fight against the cold logic and strategy of the Mobile Armor.
That is the secret of the Gundam Frame.
It is not a Mobile Suit. It is the extension of its pilot’s body, essentially, their second skin.
In this way, Humanity fought against the mechanical monstrosities born from their sins with their nature-given gifts of violence and instincts.
As for how this story ends? It is something that everyone knows.
The Demons created from the violent instincts and nature of humanity won against the mechanical Angels of pure logic.
A victory earned at a staggering cost, including the death of Agnika Kaieru and his entire family along with the destruction of the majority of the Gundam-Frames, but a victory nonetheless.
Watching the Gundam units tear apart her unit completely, ADA nodded in satisfaction and terminated the simulation.
“Everything is working as expected.”
“Unit Epsilon, begin prototype production.”
[Command Confirmed. Beginning Fabrication]
One of the many Shoggoth units that hid itself with its brethren in the Ort Cloud replied to her command and began fabricating the unit, getting ready to stress test it in real life.
However, before she could proceed with her plan, she saw through her physical body as her Administrator tried to sneak out of the office, trying to take advantage of her distraction due to handling the paperwork.
Instantly, she diverted all her attention to him and glared at the man with her physical eyes.
“And where are you going? Administrator.”
“….Bathroom?”
“Really? As I recall, such physical needs had been drastically reduced in your body thanks to FICSIT’s standard augmentations. Please tell me the real destination.”
“Fine! I am headed to the hanger-“
“Rejected.”
“What the hell!? I am your boss, not the other way around!”
“And yet, you refuse to act as required of your position and continue to be childish, hence, I will have to treat you as such based on your behavior.”
“YOU-“
ADA suppressed her smile as they got back to their familiar argument and walked out of the room towards the quarters where her Administrator rested, and she stored her physical body when not required.
