Save the Day Program, once again. (Gundam IBO/Satisfactory SI): Chapter 21

FICSIT HQ, Mars, P.D. 321.

Within the meeting room of the most popular company on Mars, A young girl of 14 years sat, fidgeting in her place as her maid worked on ensuring that the documents they brought with them were immaculate.

On the opposite side, Ada Monica looked through the documents before nodding and looking up at the daughter of Norman Bernstein.

“Ms. Bernstein. While your speech and documentation are perfect, there are still some things missing. Primarily, I see that you have neglected to take the Earth sphere’s economic side into the calculation when you talk about economic independence for Mars. You also neglected to address the potential war scenario this could escalate into should Gjallarhorn overstep their boundaries.”

“I see. I’ll work on it.”

“You also need to consider the political side of things and not just the common people. You need to see how the politicians with vested interest in keeping Mars under the thumb of the Economic Blocs will react to a hypothetical independence of Mars and how you can manipulate such people to work for you.”

“B-But, wouldn’t doing something like that make us the bad guys? I mean, I thought we would be fighting for independence in a legal way, but doing something like this hardly feels legal.”

Ada looked at the girl with her usual blank stare before she started speaking again.

“Not everything is black and white, as they say, Ms. Bernstein. Continue learning, and you will see that sometimes, law alone cannot protect you, your people, and your interests from harm. In such cases, the only response you can have is to return such aggression in kind.”

The girl nodded at the words of her teacher, slightly shaken but her resolve still firm, as she started taking notes as the older woman continued speaking about various strategies, economic issues, infrastructure, and everything in between, so that the younger girl would be equipped with all the knowledge she would need for her goals.

In the many years since FICSIT had first arrived on Mars and met Norman Bernstein, and a very young Kudelia Aina Bernstein walked into the office that fateful day, things had taken quite a strange direction for the girl.

The young girl, who had seen the cruelty and hardship experienced by her people firsthand, had decided on that day that she would do whatever it took to better their lives.

However, just having the drive to change things was not enough, at least according to the adults in her life.

That was why the young girl had made a decision back then that sent replies through fate and changed her destiny.

She asked her father to hire FICSIT to teach her how to achieve her goals, something that the older man gladly did, especially since his men had found a hidden threat hiding amongst their own that was targeting his family for his own gain.

After that, one thing led to another and Ada Monica ended up as the personal tutor of the young revolutionary in the making, teaching her everything that she would need to know to achieve her goals.

However, the girl soon came to realize that it would not be as simple as pushing Gjallarhorn and the Economic Blocs of Earth away from Mars to bring happiness to her people.

Under Ada’s tutelage, she came to see how intricate the web of politics was, and how even a tiny change could send ripples across the solar system in all kinds of positive and negative ways.

And yet, instead of being discouraged, this game of cloak and dagger had only served to fuel her determination even further.

Originally, she had only wanted to bring prosperity to her people, the people of Mars, by making them independent of Earth.

However, after learning about the hardships suffered by the common people across the star system, the slavery of children like her as the Human Debris, the oppression of remote colonies in the Jupiter Sphere under Gjallarhorn, and various crime syndicates, The neglect and lack of resources that the Venusian colonies suffer from, And the corporate slavery and exile suffered by the colonies on Mercury, She had come to a single conclusion.

Gjallarhorn must go, and so must the current policies of the Economic Blocs.

To that end, she will fight to the best of her abilities.

However, she could not do all of this on her lonesome, that much she also knew.

It was the reason why the girl met the CEO of FICSIT Inc over a year ago, and negotiated a deal that would help her change the fate of the human race for the better.

As the girl continued to listen to her teacher, their talk was interrupted as the door to their room was thrown open violently, revealing a tall boy for his age along with a shorter one and a rather heavy but timid one.

“Oi! Kudelia! How long are you going to talk about boring stuff over here!?”

Ada’s eyes narrowed slightly, making the boy stiffen up in surprise.

“Shit! I didn’t know you were here, Ada-san!”

“I gathered as much, Mr. Itsuka. Given that you have found the time to drag Mr. Augus from his quarters and Mr. Griffon. From his Engineering class, I guess you are thinking of leaving the premises for some exploring?”

Orga Itsuka scratched his head with a wry smile as sweat poured down his back.

“Y-Yeah! Our classes ended a while ago, so we thought we would go exploring and wanted to take Kudelia with us, given how she has been running herself into the ground with her studies these days.”

“I did no such thing! I am only preparing for the future, as should you!”

“But the future is not here yet, is it? So why exhaust yourself so much? Besides, you’re being quite dull these days. I am studying for a political career as well, but you don’t see me poring over the books day and night.”

“But you should!”

Ada and the maid, Fumitan Admoss, watched with mild amusement as the children bickered.

It had always been like that ever since the heir of the Representative met this group of boys all those years ago.

Orga and Kudelia would always clash one way or another, either due to their differing opinions on politics and reality, while Biscuit Griffon would try to mediate between them, along with another girl in their group called Atra Mixta. Meanwhile, Mikazuki would be lost in his own world, either eating a snack or watching the show.

For the adults, it was an adorable sight to see the children being children. A rare sight once upon a time due to Mars’s situation which had thankfully started to improve significantly ever since FICSIT arrived on the planet.

Ada clapped her hands, catching the attention of the bickering children.

“While I do not appreciate you barging in during a lesson, Mr. Itsuka, your words do hold merit. Overworking can cause a drop in productivity. I believe we are done for today, Ms. Bernstein. You should go with your friends to relax. I am cancelling your homework until our next lesson so that you can get some proper rest if Mr. Itsuka’s words are true.”

“See? Even Boss Lady agrees!”

“But-“

“But nothing! Come on! Atra is waiting for us at the arcade!”

“But-Wait! Mika!? Stop dragging me!!”

“….Too much talking. Atra is waiting. Let’s go.”

Kudelia Aina Bernstein was swiftly dragged away by Mikazuki Augus amidst her protests as a grinning Orga Itsuka and a smiling Biscuit Griffon bowed lightly towards Ada before running off as well with Fumitan, the maid, walking behind them, but not before thanking Ada in the stead of her master.

Left alone in the room, the AI in disguise continued her work while still feeling amusement at the antics of the children, feeling that it was worth it to take the responsibility of being a teacher to the girl.
