Save the Day Program, once again. (Gundam IBO/Satisfactory SI): Chapter 14

“Alright, let’s see what these things have that others do not.

“Acknowledged. Beginning test.”

The twin Ahab reactors of the two mobile suits roared to life as ADA took direct control through the control system we installed in the place of their cockpits, which were conspicuously missing in the case of the Gundam called Barbatos, and was a replacement from a regular mobile suit in the case of Gusion.

From what we dug up through our investigations, all Gundam units had their original cockpits and control units either removed or destroyed by Gjallarhorn after the war so that the highly advanced Alya-Vijnana system of those times would not fall into the hands of others.

However, I have no doubt that those bastards have a secret department somewhere that is working on those systems and other forbidden technology.

Because this is a Gundam universe, and there is no greater stupidity than trusting those in power in these universes.

The consequence of taking away the advanced Alya-Vijnana systems is that the people of this era are stuck with crude imitations that cause severe harm to the body, the longer it is used, unlike the Calamity War era system, which had nearly zero drawbacks from what we gathered.

I watched as the two Gundams started moving under ADA’s control and walked around a little bit so that ADA could calibrate the simulator with their data.

Once she was done, she put the Gundam units back in the hangar and retreated into the virtual space to conduct the simulation.

I watched the screen where her virtual simulations were being shown, watching as ADA piloted the two Gundam units against a horde of Rodi-Frames and Gilda-Frames.

The twin reactor configuration definitely showed its advantage by giving the machines bursts of power and speed that allowed ADA to easily maneuver around the horde and slaughter them.

However, aside from the significant energy output, which boosted the machine’s parameters across the board, their thicker Nanolaminate armor, and slightly more advanced computing systems, I am not seeing anything special about the machines that could qualify them to be so revered and feared in history.

“I am not seeing anything on my end. Any luck on your end?”

“Several things stand out, Administrator.”

ADA ended the simulation and returned to her clone body before speaking again.

“I have found several systems within the suits that are soft-locked. They can only be activated under specific circumstances. Aside from that, the data logs within the machines from their operational time during the war and my current simulations do not match. I predict it might be related to the degradation of the machines over the past three centuries.”

“Hmm, or maybe, it is something else, something that we are not seeing.”

From what our dive into the history of this universe told us, the Gundam units were created to combat Mobile Armors, self-replicating machines powered by rudimentary AI.

This means that there might be some kind of safety system built into these suits to protect them from being used by an AI against the human race, which would make sense since even a rudimentary AI can easily outmaneuver any human or regular automated systems when it comes to hacking and cyber warfare.

Or, maybe, it is the human element that is missing.

“ADA, how likely is it that these hidden systems will only activate when paired with the Alya-Vijnana system?”

“Calculating. The hypothesis is sound and could be a possible explanation. Unfortunately, we will not know the truth until we experiment with it.”

Experiment huh?

“How about me? My body is already enhanced with standard FICSIT Employee augmentations. They should allow me to handle any strain from the system.”

“Negative. The nanites used in the current Alya-Vijnana system are highly volatile and subpar compared to FICSIT standard nanites.”

“Then, what do you suggest?”

“I propose we research the possibility of creating our own Alya-Vijnana system using FICSIT nanites.”

“ETA?”

“I predict two months for the development of the system, and one month of real-world testing. In total, three months at the earliest.”

“Acceptable timeframe. Let’s get to it.”

“Command Accepted. Instructions sent to the Molecular Analysis Machine.”

I nodded my head as I watched the stationary forms of the Gundams in front of me.

Something is strange about these machines, I can feel it in my gut. There are secrets to them that we are not seeing yet. And I will uncover those secrets no matter what it takes.

However, there are other things that I need to worry about aside from this.

Like our upcoming meetings with a few clients.

“What’s the schedule looking like for this week?”

“We have a meeting with Mr. Burnstein scheduled for tomorrow. He wanted to discuss something about some kind of potential threat. After that, we have a meeting with Coral Conrad of Gjallarhorn’s Martian branch to discuss a potential deal for a few of their older weapon systems for us to research. After that, we have a meeting with Arbrau to discuss the details of our trade agreement for the Half-Metal.”

I smirked as I heard the list, knowing that, except for the meeting with Representative Burnstein, the rest of the meetings were basically a sham.

The meeting with Coral Conrad was just an excuse for us to piggyback on his LCS authentication and hack into the Gjallarhorn fleet network of the Martian branch, giving us near limitless access to all the information and movement of their fleet, giving us a lot of head start in case these corrupt officers ever took on a job from one of our rivals to attack FICSIT.

Similarly, the meeting with Arbrau, while legitimate and a real deal to sell my stockpile of Half-Metal, was also a way to infiltrate their systems and keep tabs on the Economic Bloc, just like I did with the SAU and Gjallarhorn.

Once ADA manages to infiltrate the Oceanic Federation and the African Union, I will have the entire Earth Sphere’s movement data at my fingertips, keeping me in the loop when it comes to all kinds of activities.

Aside from safety, I will also need this data when the day comes for me to make a move and remove these corrupted systems from the equation altogether.

“Administrator?”

“Hm? Ah, nothing. I was just thinking.”

“How dangerous. I did not know you were capable of such an act. Perhaps, I should prepare for an apocalyptic scenario like the sky falling on top of us?”

“….You have been spending a bit too much time with the civilian employees, haven’t you? Your humor module has deteriorated even further than before.”

“Once again, my humor module is working perfectly, you are just unable to comprehend the jokes for what they are.”

“…..Whatever. Let’s go. We still need to finalize the budget for this year and send the transaction details to the boys so that they can file the tax statements.”

“Acknowledged.”

I walked out of the hangar with ADA, leaving behind the Gundam units in there.

The day is not far when I unlock the secrets of these things. But for now, I have much more pressing issues, such as paying taxes so that my rivals cannot use tax evasion as an avenue of attack against FICSIT’s reputation.
