Save the Day Program, once again. (Gundam IBO/Satisfactory SI): Chapter 5

I felt anger and loss fill me as I went through the data that we managed to decode from the transmissions.

Nine months, nine fucking months. That is how long it took me to find a way to craft a Supercomputer and unlock the secrets of the Laser communications in the star system.

Only for all of my wonder and curiosity to be turned on its head by what I found.

I am in the Sol System. Specifically, I am on Pluto of all planets.

How do I know this? Because ADA managed to finally access the Laser Communications thanks to the extra processing power granted to her through the Supercomputer, allowing her to parse the primitive method and patch it into our Quantum communication systems.

The origin point of the communications is from somewhere on Mars along with various other points in space around Jupiter, Luna, and Earth itself.

An Earth that is completely different from what I remember.

With the data mining carried out by ADA, we found a lot of information about the history of the Earth and its geopolitical situation.

The maps were completely different from what I remember.

The United States of America no longer exists, and neither do the majority of the other countries. Instead, there are not four major forces known as ‘Economic Blocks’ that rule the Earth and the Marian Colony.

And yes, Space Colonies, colonies on Mars, Mercury, and on the moons of Jupiter are a thing here.

But the biggest reason for my anger and loss is not these major changes in the world compared to what I remember.

No, it is a few key words that ADA highlighted as terms of great significance in this world’s history.

Mobile Armor.

Mobile Suites.

Space Colonies.

Gundam.

I am in a fucking fictional universe! And worst of all, in such a bleak setting as Gundam!

If I did not experience what I did at the hands of FICSIT, I would have broken down and cursed the universe to the best of my abilities.

But I cannot afford something like that right now.

No. Right now, I need information.

The first rule of Gundam is that it is a political hellscape where people are doomed no matter what choice they make. Especially during the inevitable conflicts that arise between Earth and its different iterations of space or otherworldly colonies.

The biggest problem right now is that I do not recognize this P.D. or Post Disaster calendar from my memories of the shows, which means that I do not have any kind of foreknowledge or knowledge of any kind to lean upon and take advantage of.

So, I will have to take the old-fashioned approach.

“ADA, can you filter out any information about the current political scene and history of this Earth?”

“Already done, Administrator. I am just as curious as you about this new world, correction, new universe we have found ourselves in.”

I felt a smile form on my face at her words.

Fortunately, I still have her with me here and was not thrown into the deep end with no support.

Small mercies, I suppose.

Looking into the history of this world, I felt like banging my head against the wall for all the sheer stupidity I saw on full display in their history.

First, it was the old regime’s pure idiocy in creating automated armies and weapons like the Mobile Armor to combat their foes.

Putting aside all the opposition that the smart people must have raised in response to such a move, have these idiots never watched any post-apocalyptic movies? Have they never thought about what would happen should their unshackled, self-improving, self-replicating AI leave their control and do things for itself?

Hell, even FICSIT, the mind-bendingly advanced private corporation driven by the Ego and greed of its founder was not foolish enough to leave their AI, ADA, unshackled and completely autonomous.

Even now, despite her active spread across the galaxy, doing things outside of her initial parameters, ADA is still bound by a few core shackles that prevent her from ever turning on proper humans and maintains a strict chain of command. It is the reason why she immediately elevated my status from a mere asset to a proper employee of the company when she realized that I was a real human and not a Clone she created.

As anyone with even a few brain cells would guess, the Mobile Armors turned on their creators and started what is called the ‘Calamity War’. A fitting name considering that 1/4th of the entire human race was slaughtered by these machines during the war.

Of course, this would not be a Gundam universe if the idiocy of the people ended there. No, they must always stoop so low that they must break through the bottom.

Some guy called Agnika Kaieru gathered a few people and piloted the Gundam frames, the iconic mechs that are the center point of these stories, to defeat the Mobile Armors and bring an end to the War.

But then, he made a stupid mistake and created an organization with nearly unlimited power in both military and political spaces. An organization that is now filled with corruption and rotting from the inside, oppressing the people everywhere, and doing whatever they want.

Seriously, have these people never heard of checks and balances? What happened to Democracy? The need to keep such power in check and to use it in the interest of the common people instead of themselves?

And what the hell is up with Gjallarhorn randomly and arbitrarily banning entire technological branches for so-called security? Keeping humanity from progressing past what they have right now?

As if all of this shit is not enough, recently, there have even been moves on Mars seeking economic independence from Earth. A moment that is being copied on both the colonies of Jupiter and other space colonies, albeit with a lesser rate of success.

“This is a complete clusterfuck.”

“A crude but accurate statement, Administrator. What do you plan to do now?”

“…..Stick to the original plan. Find a way to manufacture the AI Expansion Servers so that we can produce our own Laser Communications.”

“And then?”

“And then, we will need to find a way off this planet and to integrate into this version of Earth.”

“Why? Administrator, you are in possession of the full industrial-grade technologies of FICSIT. What would you gain from this primitive version of our homeworld?”

“I do not know, but I think we should at least look at what this place has to offer before we decide anything.”

“Acknowledged.”

This is not my Earth, nor are they my people.

But, knowing what I know about various Gundam universes, I know that shit will hit the fan sooner or later.

A part of me wishes to help them since I am still a human being, despite the various modifications made to my body by FICSIT.

Another part of me wants to have nothing to do with these people since it is not my problem.

That is why I must first interact with these people personally. To see if I can find anything within their society that would tip the scales in my decision-making.

With a decision made, I walked out of the Hub and towards my Truck, ready for another expedition onto the Dwarf planet.

For now, I will continue expanding my factory and gathering resources.

No matter what decision I make in the future, I will need a force of my own to protect myself from harm. To that end, my factory must grow.

Comments

It will be interesting to see how the rest of the solar system reacts to him and ADA.
