Save the Day Program, once again. (Gundam IBO/Satisfactory SI): Chapter 2
Added 2025-05-10 13:03:29 +0000 UTC“Wake up, Administrator.”
ADA’s usual monotone voice woke me up from stasis. But the moment I woke up, I knew something was wrong since all the screens in the control center showed error after error.
Normally, this ship is supposed to travel through the galaxy by generating a series of short-range Wormholes, allowing for the ship to move hundreds of light-years in a matter of weeks.
It is the reason why I was placed in stasis since ADA did not know how long it would take us to return to Earth, especially since ADA had not returned to Earth in a long, long time.
However, from what the status on my seat shows, I have been in stasis for only two days, which is not enough time for us to get to Earth.
“ADA? What is happening?”
“The Wormhole collapsed on the ship and threw us off course.”
“……FUCK!!”
“Unfortunately, we do not have the time for you to express your primitiveness through such language. The collapse of the Wormhole had destabilized most of the ship’s systems. We did not have much time before the ship would blow up. That is why I woke you up.”
A chill shot up my spine at her words.
“….ADA? Why are you speaking in the past tense?”
“Because these events have already happened. Please look out of the viewport.”
Following her advice, I looked out the window, only to see the debris of what was most definitely our ship, falling towards the planet below us, just like the command center was.
“DAMNIT ADA! WHAT IS WITH YOU AND DROPPING ME ON SOME RANDOM PLANETS??”
“Apologies, Administrator. But I do not know what you are talking about.”
“THIS IS NOT THE TIME FOR JOKES!!”
“I think this is the perfect time for jokes. They should help you calm down.”
“FUCK YOU!!”
“Fortunately, I do not have a physical form. As such, I will have to deny your offer.”
I screamed in anger as the Command Center continued plummeting to the planet below.
Damned sassy AI and damned FICSIT will be the death of me some day!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I stared blankly at the rocky surface of the planet covered in darkness while holding my Build Gun, feeling lost while the wreckage of the Command Center burned around me.
Once again, I have been stranded on a strange planet that I do not know nothing about. And this time, I don’t even have a support station in orbit to help with getting out.
Fuck my life.
“I suggest you get to work, Administrator. We will have to find resources and build a new ship to get off this planet once again.”
“…..Easy for you to say. Besides, how are we even supposed to do that? I mean, we don’t have a support station in orbit like last time. This means we will have to make the Space Elevator and the support station by ourselves, which will take stupidly large quantities of materials. It might even take us double the time to get off here than it did previously.”
“Perhaps. But we do not have another choice, do we?”
“………Fine.”
I grunted in frustration and started using the dismantling function on the Build Gun to salvage resources from the wreckage around us so that I could use them to build my initial base in this place.
One of the many mind-bending technologies employed by FICSIT is the pocket dimension attached to my suite, allowing me to carry obscenely large quantities of resources as well as store materials needed for my Build Gun to create stuff.
I still don’t understand the science behind it, but from what I’ve learned over the years, the Build Gun acts as the guide for the nanites stored within it.
The Build Gun projects a hologram of anything that I wish to craft, guiding the nanites as they use the materials in my storage space to construct along the hologram.
A neat trick that makes it seem like the Build Gun is magically willing things into existence.
The Build Gun also acts as a Resource Scanner and has the ability to deconstruct anything into its base materials for me to reuse and recycle.
It took me nearly an hour to fully dismantle the wreckage and turn it into usable material for my initial base.
Which was a glorified way of saying that I built a bit of foundation and plopped down the Hub.
Fortunately, I don’t have to go through the torturous process of unlocking different forms of technologies through the ‘Milestone’ systems by gathering resources, since I had already done that before leaving that accursed desert world.
“Hmm, the resources we have will only allow us to build a few Miners, Assemblers, and a Nuclear Power Plant to power them. Fortunately, we still have some Plutonium Fuel Rods-“
“I would advise against using nuclear power here. Initial scans suggest that this planet, while rich in the reserves of Water Ice, also has other materials such as Nitrogen, Methane, and Carbon Monoxide mixed into the ice as well. It is ill-advised to use a Water Extractor on such Ice deposits. You will need a Resource Well Pressurizer and extractor to separate these materials, then use the water for the Nuclear Power Plant, something that you cannot do right now due to the lack of sufficient materials in your storage.”
“…..Great. What else do you suggest?”
“We still have some Liquid Bio Fuel left. You should use that for any initial structures.”
“And after that?”
“It depends on you, Administrator.”
“…..Fuck.”
“Again, I feel fortunate that I do not have a physical body for you to act upon your curses.”
I gritted my teeth in frustration at the AI’s ill-timed jokes.
She has always been like this. I don’t know if it is part of her programming or if she learned to be like this from other humans.
Whatever the case might be, it is the truth that I cannot establish a base around a Nuclear Power Station if the water on this planet is truly as polluted as she says. This means that I will have to use the built-in Biomass generators of the Hub as my initial power source.
But first things first, I need to find what kind of resources exist nearby.
I used the Build Gun’s resource locator function to find nearby resources for me to use.
Since there is no support station in orbit to relay its signals, the range of the resource finder is much lower than I am comfortable with, but still, I did find a few deposits of resources that I could use for now.
“Time to get to work, I guess.”
“Updating work schedule. Changing the Work hours from Pioneer class to Administrator class. You are now entitled to 8 hours of break for every hour of work.”
“Very funny, ADA. Very funny.”
“Thank you for the compliment, Administrator.”
Ignoring the AI, I got back to the grueling work of setting up my initial factory just like I did on that desert planet.
Good news is that I am much more experienced than I was during those days, which means that I can avoid the many mistakes I made in those days, this time around.
Bad news is that I have far fewer resources to work with this time around and much more difficult goals to accomplish.
But just like always, I cannot accomplish my goals if I am afraid of the hard work, so I must keep moving forward.
One Miner at a time.
