Save the Day Program, once again. (Gundam IBO/Satisfactory SI): Chapter 1

With the last of the Assembly Director Systems, Magnetic Field Generators, Nuclear Pasta, and Thermal Propulsion Rockets funneled into the Space Elevator’s storage, I took and deep breath and pulled the lever, watching as the items from within the storage were packed into the Elevator and ready for deployment.

“Here goes nothing. Hope you are ready on your end, ADA.”

“I am. This last delivery will be the most important action we have ever taken, so cheer up. I will finally be able to take you off of this planet and update your security access from a Pioneer to Administrator.”

The AI that once saw me as nothing more than a disposable tool, but now has become something of a friend, spoke those encouraging words, which were not all that encouraging, but I was not going to tell her that.

Five years. Five long years. That was how long it took me to harness the scarce resources found on this desert world to finally go through the various stages of the so-called ‘Save the Day Program’. A sham of a project, according to ADA’s own admission, once she finally realized that I was not just some clone that she cooked up to propagate her across the galaxy, and was instead a real human being.

I still don’t know how any of this ever happened. One moment, I was on my way to work, the next thing I knew, I was waking up inside a standard FICSIT. Inc drop pod.

That was five years ago.

Watching over the sprawling mega factory underneath the hill upon which I built the Space Elevator, I saw the metallic surface of my factory stretch into the distance in all directions, covering miles upon miles of the desert planet to provide the resources necessary for the Space Elevator, and in turn, my ticket out of here, to complete.

Taking another deep breath, I pulled the lever once again, causing the space elevator to shoot up into orbit of the planet and begin the construction of the final part, the Propulsion systems.

“Phase 5 completed. Beginning the final preparations of Project Assembly.”

The colossal structure that was being constructed in orbit was clear for me to see even from the surface of this planet, thanks to my suit’s camera systems as well as my own enhanced eyesight.

“Fuel injection: Complete. Internal systems check: Complete. Resource count final check: Complete. Stabilizer check: Complete. Gyroscopic system check: Complete. All preparations are complete. Initiating Project Assembly.”

The station in orbit that had been assembling the parts of the ship that would take me home began moving under the direction of the AI.

“Attaching Cargo to the Main Body”

The cargo pods filled with fuel and other essentials for our journey were attached to the main body of the ship, after which, the entire structure started turning clockwise, aligning with the outer rings of the station.

“Attaching Propulsion to Main Body”

The propulsion systems that were nearly half the size of the entire ship moved into position as the nanites of the station attached the thrusters to the superstructure.

“Fuel Lines Connected. Refueling Complete. Attaching Control Center to the Main Body.”

The final part of the assembly, the Control Center, which also housed the cockpit where I would be staying in Cryo-stasis for the foreseeable future during our trip, moved into position and was similarly attached to the ship through the Nanite systems.

“Running Systems Check. All Systems Online.”

Normally, if I was just another clone created by ADA to do her bidding this would be the stage where she left me to die and use this ship to further travel the galaxy, to repeat this process all over again.

However, as things were different now, ADA had made appropriate changes to the systems.

Case in point, the Space Elevator capsule returned to the surface swiftly and opened up, revealing a rather comfortable-looking seat.

“Waiting for the Pioneer to board.”

“Don’t have to tell me twice. I’ve been waiting for this moment a long, long time now.”

I quickly walked into the capsule and took my seat, strapping myself in for the rapid exit from the planet, sparing one last glance at the factory I had built on this planet in the past five years.

I felt a pang in my heart at the thought of leaving all of this behind, my hard work of five long years. However, my need to get back home was more important than whatever attachment I had to this place.

“I am ready, ADA. Let’s go.”

“Confirmed. Recalling Capsule.”

The capsule ascended back to the station above the planet at speeds that would have killed a regular person if not for the inertial dampeners built into it, reaching the station in a matter of seconds.

Once I reached the station, I wasted no time and sprinted down the path that ADA illuminated for me, leading me straight to the Cockpit where I strapped myself into the only seat available.

“Ready for Lift-off”

“Confirmed. Releasing Propulsion Cage.”

Through the hull cameras, I saw the massive harness around the thrusters retract into the station, revealing the propulsion system in full view.

“Releasing Clamps.”

All the stabilizers and clamps that held the ship in place started to retract as ADA ran her final checks.

“Locking in Cargo. All systems check complete. Launching in T-10.”

This is it, the final stretch.

“7”

“6”

I felt my anticipation reach its peak as the Ship’s systems came online with a powerful hum, sending vibrations across the structure and through my body.

“5”

“4”

“3,2,1.”

“What the Fuck!?”

The sudden completion of countdown by the mischievous AI made me exclaim in shock as the Ship rocked into motion.

“Lift-off confirmed.”

“A little warning next time.”

The AI ignored my words and continued her work.

“Initiating Wormhole generation.”

The space-time in front of the ship collapsed and created a tunnel, leading to our destination, thanks to the built-in Wormhole generators of the ship.

“Wormhole generated.”

“This is it, Pioneer, No, Administrator. Are you ready?”

“….As ready as I’ll ever be, ADA. Let’s go home.”

“Confirmed.”

“Initiating Administrator Stasis systems.”

I saw a few needles pop out of the chair and insert themselves into my bloodstream, flooding it with chemicals that would stop my blood from crystallizing as well as preventing any damage to my organs when I am stored inside Cryo-stasis.

The anesthetics within the chemical started kicking in as I soon lost consciousness, my last sight being the view of the desert planet below me as the ship travelled into the Wormhole.

Gjallarhorn HQ, Vingolf, Earth. P.D. 313.

Within the Headquarters of the Gjallarhorn, the organization that oversaw the world and essentially acted as Humanity’s shield and sword once upon a time, exists an entire section dedicated to keeping tabs on the solar system.

Specifically, this room contains a branch of the General Affairs Bureau that kept an eye on all of Humanity’s colonies across the star system, from the four economic blocks of Earth, all the way to the colonies on Mars and the moons of Jupiter.

Once upon a time, this room would bustle with activity as determined members of the organization searched for any abnormalities or potential conflicts that could plunge humanity into another Calamity War.

Unfortunately, such an era ended with the original vision of the organization after Agnika Kaieru’s and the rest of the original Seven Stars' deaths.

Now, this place was nothing more than a glorified communications center that maintained the LCS channels between the Martian branch, the Earth branch, and the various other fleets and branches of the organization.

A stable and cozy branch that served as a place for the heirs of influential families and companies belonging to the organization to sit back and enjoy themselves.

It was because of this kind of corruption and negligence that they missed when one of their long-range sensors picked up a space-time anomaly at the edge of the Solar system for a few seconds before it vanished.

They did not know it yet, but in the coming years, the source of this anomaly would change all of humanity and its future.

But will this change be for the better or worse? That is yet to be seen.

For now, there is a very confused and enraged FICSIT Pioneer turned Administrator who had been unceremoniously dropped onto the surface of Pluto via a drop pod alongside his AI companion as their ship exploded in orbit.
