Snow White saves the world (RWBY time travel): Chapter 1
Added 2025-05-09 14:04:10 +0000 UTCAuthor Notes: So, I got this idea as I was browsing the r/WaveofWhiteKnights subthread on Reddit.
I have noticed that there are plenty of time travel stories for a lot of characters from the series, but there were none that I could find that had Weiss as the one who travels through time. So here is a snippet of what I think a story like that could be like.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Loss was not a new feeling for Weiss Schnee.
She had felt it first when they lost Yang.
When a broken Blake stumbled to the rest of the group in Argus, holding the unmoving corpse of her partner in her arms, Weiss felt a part of her die with the blonde.
They had wanted revenge, Ruby wanted blood. But it would not be possible, as Blake had already avenged Yang’s death.
She had chopped off Adam Taurus’s arms and legs and thrown his still-alive body into the river.
The downside of having Aura activated is that death by drowning is much more horrifying for a Hunter than a civilian, since having Aura means that it would prolong the suffering of a drowning man even more by forcefully keeping them alive.
A fitting end for a monster like that Faunus.
Then, they lost Nora and Ren.
The strangely intelligent Grimm, simply called the Hound, killed them when it was kidnapping Oscar.
Jaune had shut down for days after that, and it took a lot of effort on Ruby, Weiss, Penny, and Blake’s part to bring him back from the depths he had fallen to.
Then, she lost her family.
Something happened when they were away, fighting against he tide of Grimm that Salem unleashed on Atlas.
She did not know who or what killed them. She only knows that by the time they reached the Schnee manor, it was crawling with Grimm and practically nothing was left of her mother, brother, and dear butler.
Atlas was in utter chaos as Grimm ran rampant while Ironwood went crazy. It was in such chaos that Winter Schnee, the Specialist of Atlas, and Weiss’s elder sister, fell.
Weiss could still vividly remember the scene of Cinder Fall skewering Winter through her torso from behind with a blade while Winter shielded a family of civilians from a pack of Beringels.
After that, it was all a haze for Weiss, where she only remembered her sorrow and rage-filled rampage, killing any and all Grimm she came across and hunting down Cinder Fall to the best of her abilities, with the help of her friends who had her back all the time.
She only snapped out of that haze when she realized the danger that Atlas and the people of Mantle were in.
The struggle that she and her friends went through to use the Staff of Creation to make portals to Vacuo was truly Herculean and took everything they had.
Only for all their efforts to nearly come undone when Cinder Fall showed up in the realm that connected Atlas, Mantle, and Vacuo through the portals.
Once again, another one of her friends died because of that bitch.
Cinder wanted the Maiden power that Penny inherited, powers that never belonged to her. For that reason, she targeted the rest of the group, forcing Penny to play on the defensive, giving the older woman the chance the steal the power.
Unfortunately, the bitch had not foreseen the sheer determination that the android turned human always had.
Weiss Schnee inherited the powers of the Winter Maiden.
Unfortunately, they came at the cost of Penny’s life and Jaune’s sanity.
However, fate once again proved itself to be a bitch.
Ruby Rose fell from the bridge, followed by Blake Belladonna, who tried to save the younger girl, only to have her ribbon cut by Cinder Fall mid-swing towards the bridge.
Then, Jaune followed as he was thrown off the bridge by Cinder’s attack, which he failed to defend against as he was too lost in the shock of losing everyone, just like she was.
It stands to reason, then, that Weiss lost all semblance of sanity and rampaged across the void, fighting the older woman with a brutality that she never knew she even had within her.
Unfortunately, while she did manage to sever the older woman’s remaining human arm and take out one of her legs, Cinder Fall managed to escape the void through the portals before they shut down.
Left in the void, all by herself and having lost everything that ever mattered to her, Weiss Schnee simply gave up and fell as the portals closed behind Cinder.
Then, she woke up on a sandy beach, overlooking a lush forest of crimson trees.
It was a shock to the former heiress to learn later on that the world of Ever After, a fiction that she, and probably every other child on Remnant, had read as toddlers, was real.
Even more shocking, and one that made her sob in relief, was the fact that Ruby, Blake, and Jaune had not died. Instead, they too had fallen into this fairy tale.
But once again, her curse reared its ugly head.
The Guide that she, Ruby, and Blake trusted betrayed them.
Then, they lost Ruby to the Curious Cat.
The monster broke the little rose down mentally, until she was vulnerable enough for him to inhabit.
Using her body and semblance, he nearly succeeded in his goal of reaching Remnant.
Nearly.
Weiss panted heavily, ignoring her injuries and dragging her body forward, sobbing in pain and heartbreak as blood pooled at her feet with every step.
Yes, Weiss Schnee was not a stranger to loss.
Little by little, her heart died every time she lost one of her friends, her family.
But, as she watched the unmoving forms of her friends, she felt what little was left of her heart completely shatter, leaving her a hollow husk of what she once was.
Blake Belladonna, the princess of Menagerie, partner of Yang Xiao-Long. The B of the team RWBY and her dear friend.
And Jaune Arc. The last surviving member of the team, JNPR. The Rusted Knight of the Ever After.
A man that she had come to see as a friend after the dance, a close companion after her escape from Atlas and reuniting with her team, and perhaps even more after their time in Atlas, something that she would never know, now that his broken corpse lay at her feet.
Tiredly, the Atlasian turned towards another corpse, as her mental strength finally left her and she was reduced to a sobbing mess.
Ruby Rose, her leader, her partner, her best friend, lay dead as the Cat had left her body early on in the fight after she proved to be of no use to him in his plan.
Something that the Cat took revenge for by clawing the young woman’s heart out, much to the despair of Weiss and her companions, as they failed to stop the monster before it was too late.
The door to Remnant, the way out of this land of monsters and fairy tales, was right across Weiss, just a few feet away.
However, the Atlasian woman found no strength within her to get up.
Her injuries ensured that she would die no matter what. And this time, there was no Jaune to save her from the brink like last time.
And even if she was not injured, Weiss Schnee no longer had the drive or the desire to move.
She no longer had anything left to live for, nothing left to fight for.
Her birth family is dead. Her found family, Team RWBY, is dead. Her dear friends and comrades of Team JNPR are dead. Her sister, Penny, her nation, everything is gone.
So, with nothing left, Weiss closed her eyes and continued sobbing, even as blood flowed out of her wounds and she felt herself lose strength rapidly.
It would not be long now before everything ended.
And Weiss was ready to embrace the end.
At least, in the afterlife or whatever awaited her on the other side, she would have the hope of seeing her loved ones once again.
‘Hmm, you will do.’
And yet, like always, Fate had other plans for the young former heiress as she caught the attention of a being that gave birth to these realms.
‘You will do nicely indeed. Let us see if we can’t avoid such a tragedy again.’
Weiss was not coherent enough to understand the voice, neither did she care for it, as her mind slowly failed her and she knew no more.
‘Such potential you and your friends have, always wasted in every timeline simply because of a few mistakes made by those two. Perhaps, this time, things will be different. Then again, all of it depends on you.’
‘After all, the world can only be what you wish it to be.’

*FWEEEEE*
“AAAHHHH!”
“BWAH!? WHAT!? WHAT HAPPENED!??”
The sharp noise of a whistle blew through the Dorms of Beacon Academy, forcing quite a few teams to jolt awake from their blissful sleep and curse the one who blew the whistle.
The girl in question, one Ruby Rose, grinned as her team was shocked awake by the whistle.
Blake Belladonna clung to the bed and growled like a cat as her amber eyes glared at the younger girl.
Yang Xiao-Long had fallen from her bed at the sudden noise and tried to put on a boxing stance, only for the stance to turn into a messy one and cause the blonde girl to fall to the floor again.
However, there was one anomaly in this situation.
Weiss Schnee, the partner of Ruby Rose, stared at her surroundings with a shocked look as tears started to fall down her face.
This immediately made the young girl concerned for her partner.
Ruby instantly dashed to her partner and grabbed her shoulders gently, slightly panicking at the heiress’s reaction to the whistle.
“Weiss!? Are you okay? I am sorry, I should not have done that! Should we go to the infirmary-“
She stopped speaking as Weiss Schnee, the prim and proper, and very arrogant, heiress of the SDC, simply threw herself into Ruby’s arms and started sobbing uncontrollably, drawing the attention of the now completely awake team RWBY, who immediately grew concerned as well.
That morning, Team RWBY showed up to Peter Port’s class late, much to the concern of their newly formed friends of Team JNPR.
