The Monster of Kaon (Transformers Si): Chapter 30

“I will accept your gratitude, because you seem unable to listen to my words.”
Override and Blurr simply smiled at my grumpy words before shaking hands with me and Windblade.
Windblade, in particular, hugged Blurr, who returned the hug and promised to meet again when everything had settled down.
Looks like the femme has found a kindred soul in the young Velocitronian, which is a good thing.
She really needs someone her own age and who is as free-spirited as herself to relax with once in a while. Chromia does not count since that girl had been training to become one of the Torch Bearers of Caminus ever since she could comprehend the world around her, which meant that, despite being Windblade’s Amica Endura, Chromia was much more mature than Windblade most of the time, creating slight friction between them.
While it does not mean much in the whole context since Windblade and Chromia would not trade their bond for anything, it still meant that Chromia saw Windblade as more of a younger sibling than a friend, which always annoyed the femme in question.
On the other hand, Blurr is someone just as energetic and free-spirited as Windblade, which allowed them to connect on a deeper level than anyone else in the short time they had spent together.
It also helps that Blurr had faced the same kind of social problems as Windblade due to his powers, which fundamentally made things difficult in terms of creating a social life for himself on Velocitron, which was saying something since Velocitron is the planet of speed.
Override, and I watched silently as the younger bots said their goodbyes.
“I have sent a message to Caminus and Eukaris about our agreement. They should be expecting you when you arrive there.”
“Thank you, Maximus. That will help with establishing a proper alliance with them. That being said, where are you headed now?”
At her words, I looked up at the sky where Unitex-1 was still in orbit, visible to my optics.
“……Since some of the former slaves have decided to join Unitex-1’s crew, I have tasked them with reversing the damage done to other planets by Star Seekers, after which, Silverbolt will pursue the Energon trail that originally led us here.”
“Meanwhile, I am heading to Cybertron.”
I felt my Energon pumps pick up speed as the familiar rage coursed through my emotional matrix. The red light from my optics reflected off of Override’s body plates, making the femme flinch slightly at my glare that was directed towards the sky.
“Fortress will face Cybertronian justice for all the crimes he has committed. But most importantly, he needs to pay for taking what is mine.”
Then, the rage receded as sorrow replaced the torrent of anger.
“I also need to see what is left of my home. To see just how much my students and friends have disappointed me in my absence.”
“….I see. Then, may Primus guide your path.”
Override placed her palm on my shoulder, which was quite comical to see from another perspective since she only came up to just below my spark chamber in height.
But I appreciated the sentiment nonetheless.
Soon, Windblade and Blurr were done with their conversation and returned to us.
I nodded to the young bot, who nodded back
“Are you ready?”
“Yes. Let’s go.”
Windblade excitedly ran into the ship, ready for another adventure as she had come to see this trip, making me shake my head in exasperation.
Truly, what am I to do with this naïve girl?
I turned back to Override and Blurr and gave a short bow in accordance with our culture.
“Override and Blurr of Velocitron, I thank you for the hospitality shown during our time here.”
Surprisingly, Override returned the same gesture, showing that she was taught the Cybertronian ways despite being born on Velocitron.
“The honor was ours, Maximus of Cybertron. May Primus guide your path forward.”
With the formality over, I gave the two a final smile as I returned to the ship.
I cannot say if our stop in Velocitron was worthwhile or not. But what I can say is that it was eventful, in both positive and negative ways.
But now, it is time to tie off some loose ends and finally return home.
To Cybertron, where everything began and ended for me.
