The Monster of Kaon (Transformers Si): Chapter 27

Blurr anxiously moved around outside the Titan that had served as his home for so long, watching as the colossal ship known as Unitex-1 descended from the sky.

“Blurr. Calm down.”

At Windblade’s words, the young bot could not help but give her a dubious stare.

It was an understandable reaction.

For many years, the Velocitronians had believed their Titan to be too far gone, unable to communicate with them anymore, and only ever functioning on instinct.

However, ever since this duo from Caminus had arrived, things had taken a drastic turn.

First, it was Windblade, who did the impossible and managed to heal Navitas’s brain module and systems enough for the Titan’s self-repair systems to finally activate after centuries of dormancy.

Then, it was the bot known as Maximus who achieved something even more exaggerated by defeating the monsters that had terrorized their world for so long, finally giving his people the room to breathe in relief.

And now, he restored their planet to its rightful place, once again blowing the young bot’s mind.

Simply put, Blurr was feeling overwhelmed with the recent developments and had no hope of calming down even a little.

His thoughts were cut off as the Cybertronian ship finally landed and its cargo doors opened.

Blurr and Windblade, along with many other Velocitronians who had come out of Navitas, who had finally stopped moving for the first time in years, shot towards the ship at full speed.

Some of them hoped to see if their loved ones were still alive on the ship, while other, more cynical ones, wished to at least retrieve the corpses of those who were taken from them.

However, what none of them anticipated was the large group of slaves slowly walking out of the ship’s cargo, led by the massive bot that looked exactly like the leader of the pirates.

Blurr came to a screeching halt as he saw someone he thought he would never see again in his life.

Walking behind Maximus, supporting another bot while slowly stumbling forward in exhaustion, was none other than Override, the former leader of Velocitron, and the femme that Blurr once saw as his spark-bearer, or as the organics would say, his mother.

The femme in question had also spotted the young bot, giving him a tiered smile.

“It is good to see you-“

She did not get to continue speaking as Blurr, true to his name, blurred from view and tackled the femme in a strong hug.

All of his worries, his sorrow, rage, pain, and regrets were washed away with relief as he heard her chuckle and return his hug.

And he was not the only one who had such a reaction.

Across the crowd of recently liberated slaves, such a scene was repeated countless times as many a bot found their loved ones within the crowd, making them truly grateful for Maximus’s actions.

Unfortunately, just like with everything, fortune was often accompanied by misfortune. The Misfortune in this case was many bots that searched the crowd of slaves for their loved ones, only to end up empty-handed, painting a grim picture of their fates at the hands of the pirates.

Many bots were reunited with their loved ones, but just as many bots realized that their loved ones were gone for good, pushing them into the pits of despair.

All the while, Maximus watched everything with a sympathetic gaze.

He knew better than anyone how it feels to lose a loved one and be unable to do anything about it.

Watching all of this, Maximus silently walked past the crowd, heading towards Navitas, ignoring the young femme who walked with him silently as she too watched everything with a sad gaze.

“…..Did they-?”

“Hm.”

“……..Why did they do this? Maximus. What do they gain from such cruelty?”

Maximus did not know how to reply to her words. He simply slowed down and placed his palm on the young femme’s shoulder.

“Sometimes, there is no reasoning to madness. Windblade. Sometimes, people do cruel things just for the sake of it. They commit evil because they derive pleasure from the pain of others.”

“I hope you never have to see such things with your own optics. But if such a day ever comes, know this. I will be there for you. You can come to me for help.”

With that, Maximus continued walking, knowing that he could not say anything more without the risk of Windblade’s mental stability being shaken.

In the countless eons he had been alive, Maximus had seen a lot of things. Things that would bring a lesser bot to its knees. That is why he knows the truth of these words better than anyone.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

We continued walking deep into Navitas’s body in silence, allowing Windblade the opportunity to sort out her feelings.

Until now, she had only ever heard about the cruelty of the Star Seekers from the people of Velocitron and other monstrous people like them through various stories on Caminus. This was the first time that she had come face to face with such evil in person.

That is why I know that she will need some time to come to terms with what she has witnessed.

Just like I did all those millennia ago, when I first woke up during the Quintesson War.

Soon, we arrived at the massive chamber that housed the brain module of the titan.

“You are here. Good. Come closer, Child of Caminus, Child of the Three.”

I watched the brain module cautiously as tendrils of liquid, which were in truth self-repair nanites, slithered across the brain module, showing that the Titan was still in the process of complete recovery.

My previous interaction with the Titans had been less than stellar, so I felt like I had the right to be cautious of this guy.

Unfortunately, my charge did not share the same kind of caution as he forgot all about her depression and skipped forward happily.

“Navitas! How are you feeling? Do you need another session of memory recovery?”

The ancient Titan chuckled as some warmth entered his tone, making me relax a little as I realized that this one was nothing like Emissary.

“That will not be necessary, young one. But, I do need you to stay here as I speak with your companion.”

“And what is it that you need to speak to me about?”

“…..You have not changed one bit, have you? Armorbite? I can see that you have matured considerably, but you are still the same bot who likes to come off as a standoffish being.”

…. What the hell? How does he know of my old name?

I never visited Velocitron in person during the Golden Age, so he should know nothing about me.

Ok, calm down. I need to probe for information first. I need to know how much information he has-

“There is no need to be so cautious, Child of the Three. I can see your thought process quite plainly, and I can tell you right now, I’ve known about you for a long, long time now.”

“….How?”

“Leviathan.”

“WHAT!!?”

I felt shock consume me as the old titan laughed at my expression.

Seriously, just what the hell is going on here?
