The Maniac of DxD (Highschool dxd insert/ semi-crack): Chapter 30
Added 2025-04-21 06:44:37 +0000 UTC“No.”
The beautiful woman who is the embodiment of Yamato Nadeshiko, or the ideal Japanese female, gave me an annoyed glare as her power flared, making me feel like I was sitting by a roaring flame, trying to cook me alive.
Not like the temperature matters much since I am basically immune to fire thanks to what Theus did for me some time ago.
“I am not making a request. I am demanding that you do your duty-“
“Nyet.”
“….Changing the language does not help-“
“Nein.”
The annoyance of the goddess flared even more as now, I now felt like I was inside an oven.
Again, not that effective.
I guess what the homies in India said was true. These guys are delusional as fuck.
The show of power went on as I sat there, looking completely unbothered by her display.
Yet, in the end, a goddess is a goddess, I guess, since she found my breaking point by making the temperature near equal to what I imagine the surface of the sun to be.
Although I was not the only one affected by her display, since her attendants and companions were also heaving as they tried to stand up to her divinity and power.
As far as power levels go, she is not that high, barely in the middle ranks of the Ultimate-Class, and can easily get folded by that old pervert on Olympus. But she is still stronger than I at the moment, so I’ll have to use my full power to support my body.
My mind sank into my Senjutsu and navigated through the complex mess of negativity associated with art, letting my combat meditation take control of my body.
One of the many upsides of my insanity that I’ve discovered over the years is the fact that the regular dangers of being overwhelmed with negativity of the planet do not work on me due to my mental state.
As I fell deeper into my Senjutsu, I felt three different kinds of energy envelop my physical body and my soul at the same time.
The Asura Touki techniques enveloped my soul and body, turning it black.
The blessing and a certain power I gained from Theus made my veins glow like magma from beneath my skin.
And finally, the Diyari technique I got from the aboriginals of Australia and the dubious blessing I received from the so-called ‘Rainbow Serpent’.
The Diyari technique acted as the bridge that connected my Asura touki and Theus’s blessing, then mixing them with the blessing of the Rainbow Serpent, and finally sinking into my physical body through Senjutsu.
A complete mess of a power-up, but a potent one that has saved my ass in many a dangerous situations in the past few months.
Just like this one.
With my full power brought to the front, I managed to withstand the pressure put out by the petty goddess, knowing that this would end soon enough.
Sure enough, he raging flames went back down as a brief flare of divinity from her companions forced her to stop lest she make a fool of herself in front of the entire supernatural community.
Oh! Did I mention that I took out my phone the moment she started exerting her power?
Given that I had Theus heavily modify my phone to ignore all kinds of restrictions and powers, allowing it to function even during the heavily disruptive holy aura of the Vatican, it was a valid threat to these Gods and Goddesses.
Of course, I am not foolish enough to really livestream this since even I am not foolish enough to fight a goddess to the death, even if said goddess is a pale imitation of what she once was, just like with most of the other gods and goddesses.
At least, not until I crack the paywall of Touki even more and finally unlock planet-buster Ki blasts and death beams.
“Perhaps, we can entice you to work for a fee?”
The carefully measured words of the androgenous being by Amaterasu’s side made me roll my eyes.
“Not anymore, Moony. You should have started with that in the first place. Now? you are not hiring my services, no matter what you offer. I don’t deal with morons who don’t respect the process or my time.”
“Even if we offer a way to protect Kuoh and that little devil girl you care about?”
Again, I scoffed at the words of the warrior god sitting on the other side of Amaterasu.
“First of all, you may be the primary pantheon of Japan, but you don’t own Earth or its land since you never really paid much attention to the well-being of the humans on it. Hell, even the Olympians were better than you back in the day if what I heard from my sources was anything to go by. At least, they tried to do something for the humans, even if their alien thinking and stupidity made their actions more of a curse than a blessing for the humans.”
“You three and the rest of Shinto, on the other hand, straight up ignored the humans ever since your worship amongst my kind started to dip. Why should gods and goddesses like you own any land on Earth in such a scenario?”
“If you ask me, you should all go the way of the Anunnaki and Aztecs and just fade from existence.”
I grinned and continued speaking, ignoring their expressions, which were becoming sterner by the minute.
“I mean, it was clear that you lacked a brain the moment you integrated your very essence with the Faith of humans and the land of Yamato itself, doubling down on gaining strength from the Faith of humans and the vitality of the land itself. An action that backfired spectacularly on you when the humans slowly lost interest in you, and the land received a lot of metaphysical damage after WWII.”
This time, all three of the Shinto Trinity became upset with my words and worked hard to suppress their power, not willing to risk exposing themselves to the world through my livestream.
I so love messing with powerful people like this!
……Even if these actions make me more enemies than I already have.
……Nah! Still worth it!
However, what I said to them had some truth to it.
During my travels, I have researched a lot about the history of this world, and there are many things that make absolutely zero sense in the supernatural world.
For example, every pantheon in the world has its own creation myth that paints them or their progenitors as the first beings in existence, including the creation of humanity and many other beings of their pantheons.
They even have proof that their version of the creation myths is the real deal.
When I pilfered the vaults of Olympus, I came across a few artifacts belonging to Primordial Chaos, the entity from which the Primordials were born. The same primordials who later on gave birth to the Titans, who in turn gave birth to the Gods of today in the Greek Pantheon.
Similarly, the creation myths of the Shinto have their own proof of existence. From what I learned from my sources, Takamagahara has a few drops of the Primordial Oil from which the Kotomatsukami were born, locked away somewhere in their realm, the location of which was only known to Amaterasu.
Every pantheon in the world has such proof that can be used to validate the stories of their birth.
However, things become muddy when you take into account that the proof of the creation of humanity in these pantheons is not as readily available and much more nebulous. Not to mention the contradiction of multiple stories that show their gods or ancients creating the Earth at various different time periods.
It is this contradiction and the nebulous origin of humanity that is collectively called ‘The Creation Paradox’ Because of how difficult it is to divine the truth of the matter.
Aside from this, there is also another topic of great contention within the gods of the world, something called ‘The Entropy’, but I have not managed to find anything much about this topic.
What I did manage to find was that whatever it was, it caused a surge of panic within the Gods of the world from untold eons until someone figured out how to tie their essence into humanity’s faith, deriving power from it.
After that, the majority of the gods and goddesses did not hesitate to draw power from human faith, greatly expanding their respective reach and their powers.
And just like the beings that they claim to have created, they fail to read the warning label on the tin before fully committing to something.
The result is what we see today.
A majority of the old Pantheons are on the verge of fading from existence, thanks to the lack of faith and followers, with many others that have already faded into oblivion.
In this age, the only pantheon that can confidently say that they are completely safe from Human influence are the Hindu Pantheon, the Australian gods (who never appear in the physical form in the first place and only interact through LSD trips and dreams), a few Gods from Valhalla, such as Loki, Thor and Baldur, Hades, and few other such beings who never took to the power of Faith like their peers.
This also explains why the majority of the Top ten list in the world is made up of these gods and other monsters like the Infinity and the Dream.
Aside from these beings, there were also pantheons that doubled down on the stupid idea by integrating their essence with inanimate objects or pieces of land in hopes of staving of the chance of Fading with the lack of worship while also reaping the benefits of the faith energy.
The Shinto pantheon is one such example.
Needless to say, their actions backfired spectacularly when they were hit with the double whammy of losing followers and their Faith, along with significant damage to the flow of natural energy within Japan when the Atomic bombs were dropped on them during WWII.
With one fell swoop, one of the strongest pantheons in the world was directly reduced to an average race of Gods with nothing special to write home about.
“….Then, how can we get you to take our request?”
The measured words of the androgenous being, the Moon God Tsukuyomi, brought me out of my thoughts as his sister fumed in anger.
I grinned as the words I had been waiting for were finally spoken by God.
“I want full immunity from the Shinto pantheon so travel wherever I please within your realms, specifically, the Youkai realms in Kyoto and Kanto.”
My words made the god of the moon pause as Amaterasu fumed even more.
It has been a month since I’ve gained any kind of progress in my training, probably because I am stuck in Kuoh and can’t really do much in life-threatening fights or jobs.
This means that I will have to augment my training in some other way. And what better place to train than the most spiritually active place in Japan that I can easily visit for a few hours every week?
Of course, the problem here is that I have been banned from Kyoto and Kanto after my last stint over there shortly after escaping from the Himejima clan.
Specifically, the incident where I tracked down the home of the damned Youkai that tried to eat me back then and then committed arson, which resulted in the neighborhood burning down after the flames accidentally spread all over the place.
As for what happened in Kanto? That is a secret.
What happens in Kanto, stays in Kanto.
Of course, I could try to use my immunity as an Agent of Grigori to circumvent these bans like with most of the other places that I am banned from, but I doubt the Biblical facitons have any traction or pull in the Youkai lands after what happened in the Underworld with the Nekomata and the Nekoshou.
After contemplating for some time, Tsukuyomi nodded his head.
“Acceptable-“
“I also want the Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi.”
“Absolutely Not!!”
The goddess of the sun exploded in rage at my words, making me grin.
Time to bring out my charisma and make this goddess fall for my ‘charm’ of brutal negotiations.
