Predator: Ishimura

Classified Star System, Milky Way Galaxy.

With the dark reaches of space, reality warped as a ship dropped out of warp.

Its smooth, curved shape lined with red lights gave it an elegant but deadly look, similar to a predator on the hunt.

It made sense for it to have such a shape as it belonged to a race of people that are the very incarnation of the concept known as ‘Hunt’.

Throughout the galaxy, they are known by many names, but their true name is one that only a select few species know about.

The Yautja.

Within the main cabin of the ship, three Yautja stood in front of a holographic display specifically tuned to display images that they could see with their natural infrared vision. Their helmets held in their hands and marked with their clan’s symbol through acidic blood of a certain species, marking them as Blooded Warriors.

Normally, such Hunters would rarely venture into such a distant part of the galaxy, far removed from Yautja Prime, unless they were hunting for their most preferred prey.

However, a recent development had forced them to investigate this star system.

For an ancient enemy had been awakened from its slumber by the foolish humans, and it now fell to the Yautja to clean up the mess before their entire galaxy was infested and devoured by the enemy.

Soon, the sleek ship moved through space at blistering speeds and arrived at a planet that was known to the humans as Aegis VII.

The planet was in bad shape. A large chunk of its surface was torn away, hanging at the edge of space, held aloft by the gravity tethers of the human ship in its orbit. Similarly, the planet itself was also held together by gravity tethers, making sure that it didn’t destabilize and turn into rubble while the Human ship performed the Planet Crack sequence to extract its resources.

There were many things that the Yautja acknowledged the humans, or as they called them, the ‘Oomans’ for, but one of the main things that they acknowledge them for is their technological prowess.

Unlike many other races in the galaxy, including the Yautja, whose technological prowess was, in some part, derived from a precursor civilization, the Humans were some of the few species in the galaxy who could proudly claim that everything they had was built with their own hands.

Slowly, the alien ship that was dwarfed by the sheer size of the Human ship, arrived at the ruined docking bays of the Human Planet Cracker. The lights of the Yautja ship illuminated the name of this doomed ship.

USG Ishimura.

And so, the most powerful and efficient Hunters in the Galaxy encountered a hoard of monsters born from the accelerated evolution of one their most worthy prey, the Humans that were mutated into monsters due to a plan that was thousands of years in the making.

The Necromorphs.

Author Notes: A fun thought experiment. I don't think I will write more of this but we'll see in the future.

As I said in the Notice post, I've been playing Dead Space remake for a few days now and this Idea came to my mind yesterday. So, here it is.
