Sona Sitri, going by Sona Shitori, had a headache as she stared at more than a dozen girls standing in front of her desk, sporting various bandages that showed their injuries.

“And you are sure that you do not want me to take any action regarding this incident?”

The leader of these girls who belonged to the Kendo club, Reya Kusaka, nodded seriously as the girls behind her did the same.

When she received the word yesterday evening, right after school was done, that more than a dozen girls had ended up in the infirmary after a fight against Maniac Ren, she had been extremely furious.

For that moment, and even now, Sona Sitri forgot all about the deal between her parents, the Gremory head, and the Fallen Angel Baraquiel.

She will not tolerate anyone who will cause harm to the students of her school, even if she is implicated for such a decision and will have to face the consequences later on.

And even if she became the target of said madman after this and ended up becoming a laughing stock in the supernatural community after he takes revenge, she will not regret such a decision.

However, all of her rage and determination left her after this group of girls was called to her office first thing in the morning to provide her with testimonies.

Instead of indignation and resentment, she found respect and determination in the way these girls held themselves when she mentioned Maniac Ren and her intent to have him expelled for this incident.

It did not take her long as she listened to their story to realize that these girls did not hold this incident against Izayoi Ren.

Instead, all they felt for him was respect as a fellow warrior and determination to surpass him in their craft.

In fact, many of the girls even expressed their intent to invite the madman into the Kendo club to which all the others agreed without question.

This was why the Devil Heiress in disguise felt a headache.

It was a known fact that the Kendo club is full of adrenaline junkies who love their arts to an unhealthy level. If it was not for their leader, Reya Kusaka, who worked as a force of moderation due to her relatively low interest in said weapon, there is no telling what this group of battle junkies would do to their school in search of a good fight.

And now that they found such a good opponent to hone their skills against, there was no way they were going to let it go that easily.

However, putting aside all of this mess, Sona could not help but feel a little respect for these girls.

If it was group of devils that was beaten up like them, they would have been screaming murder and demanding the blood of their opponent by now because their pride was hurt with this defeat. But this group of human girls took this beating as a sign that they must improve themselves to face their opponent again and win fair and square.

She eyed the girls, and their leader in particular, appreciatively as plans formed in her mind.

‘Perhaps, it is time for me to expand my peerage again. I could use someone with such a strong mind with me.’

Sona closed her eyes for a moment, recentering herself, before speaking again.

“Alright. Because you girls, the injured party, do not want to escalate this incident, I will let it go. However!”

Sona glared at the girls and made them flinch.

“I will not tolerate such a situation again. While my anger at Izayoi-san is very high for harming you girls to such an extent, I also know that you people played a large part in instigating the incident in the first place. Next time something like this happens, I will punish both parties very heavily. Am I clear?”

“””YES! SHITORI-KAICHOU!!”””

Satisfied with the response, the devil dismissed the group which scrambled out of the room.

Only then did she allow herself to slum a little into her chair.

“…This is a mess.”

“Indeed. We are lucky that Maniac Ren did not decide to livestream that fight. If not, who knows what would have happened to your reputation.”

“Don’t remind me!”

Sona wailed a little at that reminder from her queen before recomposing herself.

Seriously, she was very lucky.

Even though she was ready to expel Maniac Ren from the school for this stunt, she also knew that she would become the laughingstock of the supernatural community if Ren made this incident public.

First day of attending school, and he was already labeled as a pervert and then assaulted by human children, belonging to her school.

She would have been labeled as an incompetent heiress who can’t even manage simple human children and all the reputation that she worked hard to earn over the years would have gone down the drain.

“Putting aside this close call, how is your investigation going Tsubaki?”

Tsubaki Shinra smiled at her King’s words before putting down a bunch of papers.

“I will say that there are a few gems in this school that you could recruit. But the real interesting ones are in the last year of Junior High. This means that you can only come into contact with them next year.”

Sona took the papers and looked over them before seeing a few familiar names.

Tomoe Meguri. Second-year student and one year older than Sona.

Sona knew of this girl beforehand.

Tomoe hailed from the Meguri clan, a family that is relatively well known in the exorcism business and frequently dealt with things such as possessions and unwanted Youkai encroachment into human homes.

Unfortunately, last year, they managed to piss off a relatively powerful Youkai and ended up cursed. A curse that fell upon the girl’s soul.

Sona had already sent one of her summoning pamphlets to the family to see if they were willing to take her help in this matter but she had yet to receive a reply from said family so she was still waiting on that end.

Another familiar name was Saji Genshirou. A final-year student in the Junior High school division of Kuoh Academy and someone that is destined for Kuoh High next year if his current work ethic is anything to go by.

While he did not hail from any particular family and was unaware of the supernatural, the thing that attracted her gaze to him was his dormant Sacred Gear.

It was sheer coincidence that Tsubaki’s routine actions of scanning the students with magic led her to discover this hidden gem that Sona had been keeping an eye on for some time now.

Once he graduated and started attending Kuoh Academy the next year, Sona planned to directly propose a contract.

Aside from these, there were also some other talented people in the Junior High school section but those were not on Sona’s radar.

Especially the so-called perverted trio that was in the final year of Junior High and was slated for their first year in Kuoh Academy next year, yet already ran afoul of her thanks to their tendencies of breaking into the girls’ changing room in the high school section.

To this day, the devil could not understand how these three always managed to get past the walls and gates that separated the Junior High School from the High School section to peep at the older girls.

They are also the primary source of her fear that they would somehow be found out by Ren and he would livestream their actions to social media, permanently ruining the reputation of her Academy.

That is why she had used all her power to place every available teacher and adult to monitor those three every day, from morning to evening, and make sure they don’t make a fool of themselves in front of the natural disaster that is Maniac Ren.

“These look promising, keep an eye on their progress for the next few months. Also, start a background check on Reya Kusaka, the second-year student and president of the Kendo club.”

“Did you find something special about her? Kaichou?”

Sona smiled as she remembered the powerful determination she felt from the older girl.

“I think she will serve well as one of us. All that is left is to see which piece she is most suitable for.”

Tsubaki bowed at her king’s words and headed out to fulfill her actions, leaving the devil heiress to lean back into her chair to relax a little bit.
